Mengnan Cai Christopher J. Stephens Capstone Research Project May 27, 2013 Gun Control Comparison between the US and UK Both the U.S. and UK has statutes and laws about guns. I want to make a comparison about comparison between the U.S. and UK. If you look at gun control in U.K. versus that of the U.S you will find that U.K. and the U.S. are very different. For instance, a ban on all hand-guns in the U.K. is expected to easily pass in the upcoming year. This has to do with the fact that only one out of every twenty homes in Britain has hand-guns, compared to one out of every two in the U.S. This cultural difference is why attempts at gun control in the United States are such a heated topic. Last one is weapons transportation. There are no laws pertaining to bringing firearms into Colorado from another state. In the UK, it is illegal to bring weapons into the country. (Martin) The US has the highest gun ownership rate in the world that an average of 88 per 100 people. England and Wales, by comparison have an average of 6.2 per 100 people.
