Group Report for the essence of leadership and motivation Abstract Leadership and motivation skills are essential for executives within an organization. Different types of leadership results various performance of the employees and organization. Successful leaders form motivation and create a certain types of environment to the organization. Most importantly, motivation from leaders creates intrinsic rewards which motivate employees to be innovative. We summarized an interview with the Chairman of Shandong Wenhuayuan based on ten relative leadership, motivation and innovation journals and course materials. Summary of Journals: 1. Executives’ emotional intelligence, including their self-awareness, empathy, rapport with others, has clear links to their own performance. That means a leader’s emotional intelligence most influences one company’s bottom-line performance. Also new research shows and leaders’ emotional style also drives everyone else’s moods and behaviors through a neurological process called mood contagion. It’s akin to “Smile and the whole world smiles with you.” Emotional intelligence travels through an organization like electricity over telephone wires. Depressed, ruthless bosses create toxic organizations filled with negative underachievers. But if you’re an upbeat, inspirational leader, you cultivate positive employees who embrace and surmount even the toughest challenges. Emotional leadership isn’t just putting on a game face every day. It means understanding your impact on others then adjusting your style accordingly.
