Goals must be measurable, attainable and include a timeframe in which they should be completed. By being aware of exactly what you want to achieve, you can determine the steps needed to get there • What do I want to accomplish? • Why am I doing this task? • Who are all involved in the task? • What are the expected outcomes of this task?
When we look at what we have as our goal we have to know what kind of commitment that is behind the goal. We have to know what make our goal a reachable goal. My goal is to finish my college education this time around. I made a steps in which will help me be able to reach these goals to my full max. Then I made sure I set a reward for myself when I reach each step along the way.
The competencies exercise revealed my top strengths to be leading, cooperating, coping with pressure, networking, taking initiative and innovating. I am someone who enjoys leading and developing others to achieve results. I can improve upon my critical thinking skills by knowing my strengths and accepting my weaknesses. This will also help with evaluating arguments in a meaningful way. When one knows their competencies they can step up and utilize their strengths and leverage others when needed.
I have many resources that are available for my success in graduation, continued education, and my career. The resources that I have available to me are my family, my academic advisor, the alumni network for mentoring, my finance advisor, enrollment counselor, and other classmates. I will use these resources when I seem to feel negative and need a pick me up, have questions about my loans, have questions about my classes, etc. I know that in using these resources it will help me toward my academic goals.
