Since the husband’s role is to go out and provide a living for his family, the wives job is to look after the home. It may not be considered a public work, but her position within the home is still very vital and important. Her role is a non income producing activity, but ensures the success of the family. Another role for a Christian wife is the raising of her children. Titus 2: 3-5 states that, "Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored," (The Christian Woman", 2004).

With the loss of a mother at a young age a person’s life can significantly change, not always for the worst but also for the better. Since Rochelle was a little girl she was obsessed with having an extravagant “white wedding.” Throughout the story the younger sister Lily tries to snap Rochelle back to reality and get her to appreciate her Mexican culture. Rochelle gets married while she’s four months pregnant and although things didn’t go as she planned she was content with how she ended up. Granados implies that life won’t always go as you planned.
When two people can thank each other for their devotion everyday like what they did for each other on first date, love can forever be refreshed and energetic. On Lucy’s side, people with memory will ask for more than yesterday and become critical of their partners day by day, while people without memory will feel grateful for their life and the people around them everyday. I hope once I figure out what I want to do in life, my mother will be proud of me. My mother’s humbleness is probably the best characteristic about her and I hope to carry that in life. She also has a good heart, she treats everyone in the best way possible and that just shows that they are some good in people. My mother’s accomplishments have meant a lot to me because it shows such dedication and I know that’s a spectacular trait to have while growing up. My Mother and her Sister “My Mother and her Sister” is written by Jane Rogers I 1996. It is a shot story about the relationship between the narrator, her mother and her aunt Lucy. The narrator is a young woman named Dorothy, who tells about her childhood and her mothers parenting skills compared to her aunt. When Dorothy was a child, she was living alone with her mother and her brother Tim. Dorothy and her mother had a great relationship, they where always making fun of aunt Lucy and how she was the ideal mother and wife.
While many single mothers worry too much or regret decisions during their children childhood they are satisfied with the result and the out come of there children by the actions their children make after they grown out of their childhood In “I stand here ironing” a mother depicts her first child to have a bad early childhood by making the wrong decision not by choice but simply what got handed to them in a urban world. “She was a miracle to me but when she was eight months old I had to leave her daytimes with the woman downstairs to whom she was no miracle at all, for I worked or looked for work and for Emily’s father who “could no longer endure sharing want with us.”” Narrator did not want leave her child with the downstairs neighbor, but to provide the little she could to her child she made scarifies due to been a one parent family. She did all she could even with the father figure leaving to irrelevant discussion on his part. When she sees the development of her child thru the years she gets warmth never felt. “Now suddenly she was Somebody, and as imprisoned in her difference as she had in anonymity.” In the narrators point of view her child was an outcast, a nobody, but when she got the call from her daughter it seem the sun finally started to shine in her daughter path, she was free.
