Therefore, gang violence is ultimately eliminated. Gang violence inspires me to change the way society lives. All around the world, gang violence is a major problem that everybody should address; however, there is not really a lot of communication between schools and police departments to prevent gang violence in their communities. There is a lot of teen victims that have been influenced by these gang members which is saddening because they have practically ruined their lives. They eventually regret their awful decision.
There are so many reasons as to which juveniles can talk themselves into joining gangs. Reasons having to do with family problems or even involvement in the gangs, to friends being there, making money fast and having a sense of “security” when with his or her gang members. One of the main reasons why kids partake in gang activity is because of a neglected feeling from their family. “If young people aren’t getting positive attention from parents, joining a gang certainly provides lots of negative attention. Youth who are angry at a parent may join a gang to shock or be defiant toward the parent”.
In this regard, because of low self-esteem and self-images, a new recruit would be persuaded to join gangs easily. In the perception that gangs would be able to help them find their identity in the community. In relation to this, many young individuals join gangs in order to reward one’s masculinity, as means with which to solve the gender problem of accountability. If a young man is able to join a gang and be able to be recognized as a “real man”, capable of inflicting harm and becoming powerful and superior in the community. A young recruit would be driven to perform such acts, and such recognition may either be in the form a society that fears them, thus, making the obtain attention and respect.
For instance, police officers would begin cracking down on smaller crimes such as kicking vendors out of unissued areas in the hopes that it would somehow eliminate drug sales or theft. Because of this theory, many people were getting in trouble by the law for things they previously did without thinking twice. I think that in short term, this theory can truly be beneficial because of its hands on action. However, in the long run, crime will happen no matter what because people will rebel due to the strictness of these officers. This theory has gotten much support, but because of its intensity it has also received some criticism.
They say that rumors spread through town in the time it takes for the truth to our on its jacket. In today’s society the damaged will often prey on the strong, confident and successful in an effort to level the playing field. Add illicit narcotics into the mix and you have bullies who can become so egotistical they will believe their own lies. Often thought of as something that only effects youth, bullying has become something that can happen to anyone at any time. In recent times there have been reports of people being bullied so bad, they have taken their own lives to escape from the constant torment.
The younger generation People in Fort William are always saying 'Och the younger generation are chaos creating hooligans that cause distress and trouble in the community. These people that are supposedly involved in crime are somewhat of a bad stereotype for young people. Such problems are caused by many factors but the most concerning to me is that young people have very few things to do. All because the government spends very little on facilities. There is also too much bad press on young people as a result.
Those illegally distributing alcohol could not use the legal system to resolve differences, so they had to resort to violence. In turn, forcing the police department to increase forces to enforce the prohibition law, and less for the other crimes . (http://eh.net/encyclopedia/article/miron.prohibition.alcohol) Prohibition banned only the manufacturing, sale and transport, but not consumption or possession of alcohol, so many people bought liquor before the 18th Amendment was passed. (www.1920-30.com/prohibition/) Criminal organizations mostly profited by the prohibition which in turn promoted other illegal activities.
An increased level of concern about public safety and crime rates may be brought about by increased incidences of shoplifting in particular areas. Lastly and most influential to our social framework is the strain and added family problems that result from the shoplifting arrest of a child, as well as the loss of youthful innocence and damage to their future. (Youth Service Council Of Orange, 2004) So why do so many juveniles shoplift? The easy answer is simply so that they can get something for nothing. However the real cause of shoplifting goes beyond this.
Law enforcement is abused in many ways. From what I found the police there are police for the entertainment. I mean they do good things when it comes to drug bust and stuff, that is if they aren't using them for their own use and profit. But they Rodney King people on a daily basis for fun. No one wants that type of police force in their community.
With all of the name brand shoes, clothes, and jewelry this world has to offer, its often hard not to want everything that is seen. Teens are killing each other over things as simple as shoes. Not realizing that lives can not be replaced like the materialistic things can but because violence is often publicized for fun, teens often forget that its wrong. Fights are often started and recorded just to be posted on youtube. Teens are on the news for gang related street brawls and taking guns to school because they are being harassed but when they do positive things, it doesn’t get as much recognition.
