Leadership is another trait that can’t be easily developed, but only with thorough diligence and dedication. Eureka College can help develop those that desire more in the field of leadership and service. Being a good leader means you have the interpersonal strength to deal with difficult issues. Leadership qualities are desired but not easily attainable without outside help. The main idea that Eureka tries to convey to the student is that if you want to have a successful and productive life, then Eureka College can help you pursue that goal as long as you try hard and stay focused on your
(Are you entering a selective admissions program or transferring to a different college or university? This is probably required in either of those cases.) Whether your program is an open or selective admissions program. A couple of sentences highlighting the classes and/or kinds of classes needed to complete your course(s) of study. (For example, “I will be taking a selection of general education classes such as English,
3. What suggestions would you give other students on ways to get the most out this course/program? 4. How do you feel about yourself as a writer/teacher/biologist/sociologist/etc.? 5.
“By tying grades to money, we give students incentives not to take risks” (Vogel, 392) that stop them from choosing challenging courses in college. Students find easier courses through word of mouth or websites that previous students rate their professor in. I always ask people who previously took the course I am interested in whether or not I have a chance of passing the course with a C or higher. Students are afraid of putting their grade point average at risk because the grade point average is a component of the application process that helps colleges decide who to accept. .
If you take extra classes (or credits) but they are soft-ball classes (like basket-weaving or calisthenics), this looks just as bad. The best high school transcript will show consistent grades in a challenging course load with challenging classes. AP classes or advanced classes impress colleges and tell them that you are ready for college–level work You won't impress an admissions committee by asking for a tour of the all–night study lounge. Yes, colleges want bright students. But even more, they want bright, well–rounded students.
short term review is not likely to be of much benefit.” Short term review and trying to each students content are, in essence, what coaching programs are doing. Again, students should prepare in the long run for entrance exams by taking harder classes in high school. Unfortunately, in the United States many students from low-income families are in schools where they are not encouraged to take rigorous academic courses or the courses are just not offered to the students. There is also a positive correlation between family income and test performance. (Depalma).
Take the time to “stop, step back, and think” before acting. Good decisions are often associated with common sense (Smith, 2008, p. 16). A person can be a good test taker or have the time to go to as many schools as you wish but all the education or classes that you take do not teach you common sense. Academic knowledge provides additional tools that assist you during the decisions making process but ultimately relying on your gut feeling and common sense are imperative. Another trait that I feel strongly about is good people skills.
A few have shown their disappointment and concern to me, which is an unsettling feeling. If I return assignments that reflect their efforts are appreciated, on time, my instructor’s would no longer be disappointed. By avoiding procrastination, I can succeed in having proud instructor’s while showing them their efforts are
There is another choice, with a college education we can study and obtain an education in a field that we are most interested in without having to take the lower road. A way to help promote this idea is to set goals for yourself in the present and for the new you in the future. Goals help many people achieve what they want in life. The importance of goals is to give one the assurance and the strength to know that they have accomplished something of great importance to themselves. Without setting goals most people would not pursue their dreams because they see no reward in the end for having to go through some hard times.
Mandatory Volunteering It is important to help people in need, but this should not hurt students’ rights. I am in favor of Volunteering. Poor people and community are benefited with this work, they need help because they do not have many resources, and it is heartwarming to be supportive and charitable. However, even though mandatory volunteering has a good purpose, I believe that it should not be done by force. For one thing and despite the fact that doing volunteering is better than sitting around, my opinion is that every student should have the freedom to choose their own extracurricular activities.
