1.2 person centered values are important with care plans as Care planning is all about improving the lives of those who receive care. A person centered approach is fundamental to achieving high quality care, both for staff who implement care plans and for service users and their families who rely upon them. The emphasis must always be on the service user as an individual, with aspects of aspects of their unique qualities helping to inform the care plans, such as their life history, likes and dislikes, and experiences. Creating a care plan that ensures that person centred values are met will make all the difference when considering an individual’s ability to understand,
It can be the key to having successful relationships both personally and professionally. As a nurse working the health care profession, having a key understanding of health care communication plays a major role in health outcomes. It is also imperative to have knowledge of therapeutic communication theories and principles as well as the relevance of effective personal and professional communication impact on the health care setting. According to The University of Boston (n.d), “Health Communication encompasses the study and use of communication strategies to inform and influence individual and community decisions that enhance health.” This plays a crucial role in the health care industry as clinical specialist, patients and families must maintain shared communication in order to sustain a positive favorable outcome of all parties. Working towards a common goal requires being able to articulate thoughts and ideas with clarity and conciseness.
Working in the Health and Social Care industry I think the most important thing is the service users and our health and social care workers and their happiness. The more I reflect and enhance my own knowledge the more effective the learning and training will be. We also have to take responsibility for our own behaviour on people that we manage and train and encourage them to show positive behaviour too. 1.2 – Analyse potential barriers to professional development There are a number of barriers within my role. Once the barriers have been identified I should look to overcome these.
Unit 30 Assignment 1.1 The policy of person-centred care has become a mainstay of efforts to reform health care in the UK. Government policy is now built around this core concept, a major aspect of which is enabling individuals to participate in decision-making about their care at every level. By concentrating on the individual’s wishes and aspirations and placing them at the centre of a ‘planning circle’ the care team can assist with goal setting to ensure their best interests are maintained and the individual’s preferences are considered. Working in partnership is a key element of practice within health and social care. The concepts of power sharing, consultation and joint ways of working are essential for effective service provision.
It is understood how interdisciplinary collaborations are very meaningful in providing care in this healthcare system. Nurses are involved in the participation of caring, safety, and the daily socio-economic realities of the patients we care for and their families. They make sure that the responsibility of our patients care, and safety relies completely on us. As nurses, it’s our job, to ensure them that the care given is within our scope of practice and that the quality of care is presented as well. This report of the IOM has made the author realize the importance of education, leadership roles, and the qualities of a leader.

The primary belief at MUSC is that the transforming of the patient experience means shifting the paradigm to view healthcare through the eyes of the patient and their family. This view provides the organization with opportunities that will change the way healthcare is provided to each and every patient ("The quality patient experience"). Patient and family centered care is MUSC’s way of changing from the status quo of serving patients and families, to a guiding principle of partnering with patients and their families.
