The aims of a company are strategic because they are there as steps to be the best that they can be and are ways in which the company can achieve what they set out to do. Below are examples of two very different company's and an explanation of how they use strategic planning, what there organisational structures consist of and what functional areas each of them use to implement their overall Plans. Oxfam; Oxfam's mission statement is 'to eradicate poverty throughout the world'. Their aim is to 'create lasting solutions to the injustice of poverty'. They hope to do this through achieving many different objectives.

Changes in services that are offered to the residents have been the driving force towards the growth and setting BKD apart from the others. One can clearly see how the change managers have applied the vision in the changes. Other departments or communities can take a look at the vision and use that as a guide to changes they want to implement or in the process of implementing to be sure that what they are doing will grow the company, will enrich the lives of our residents. There are also disadvantages which include requiring close monitoring of the situation to ensure that agreements are met, it doesn’t help build trust in the staff team in the long run and could also result in a situation where both parties are not satisfied with the outcome derived and so you could be back to the beginning with trying to solve the original
