Our freedoms are what set American’s apart from other countries. For example, the amendment is a great example of what I mean. Americans like me have the opportunity to a good education and receive a good career apart from some countries. American people of all different races and religious can live and work together because everyone is allowed an equal opportunity. Americans are united we take pride in our country.
Any American will achieve the greatest things when their happiness is at its highest point. Being able to pursue one’s own happiness is possible as long as the individual puts all mind and body into it. Jefferson pursued his own happiness by declaring his independence and sharing among the American citizens his meaning of happiness for him and generations to come. From my experience, being able to attend college brings me closer to my dream of being a Sea World trainer in San Diego. Being able to achieve difficult goals shows true happiness in an individual.
WHAT AMERICA MEANS TO ME Freedom is a present that was given to me when I was born in the United States of America. There are many different ways to use this gift in my life and future. I am happy to have this freedom because there are kids who are born in other countries who never get to choose what they want in life like I do. One freedom that I have is the right to choose what I want to do. When I get older, I can be a doctor, a race car driver, or be in the Army to help protect the freedom we have.

Brian Redman English 101 Essay 3 August 8, 2012 American Dream The “American Dream”: ethos for the United States. It is a set of ideas in which freedom includes the opportunity for prosperity and success, and an upward mobility achieved through hard work. (Wikipedia) Our founding fathers may have planted the roots for it by saying, “all men are created equal” and we will base our ideas on, “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” Wow, those words really did strike a chord when I was a young boy. I always believed that America looked out for everyone’s best interest. I slowly started to realize that America may not be living up to those standards that the constitution was based on.
The United States of American has risen from an optimistic idea by our Founding Fathers and evolved into the great nation that it is today. It would be difficult to describe only one aspect of what makes America great, as there are many values and ideas which have not only shaped our nation, but inspired individuals at home and all around the world. The “American Dream” is a way of life, based on the idea that if you work hard you will be successful. This idea has endured for well over a century, and people have come to America from all over the world for opportunity and a better way of life. I know this firsthand and have felt the inspirational power of this belief, because my own Father came to the United States with very little money, but an incorrigible desire to work hard and succeed.
If the draft were to be reinstated, the citizens of America and America itself would be better off. If everyone had to protect the country we love, they would reap the many benefits it has to offer. This is America, we are Americans. Someone vowed to protect us and the land. If we all vowed to protect each other and our land we would have a better understanding of the military and appreciate the sacrifices that someone else made for us.
