Here we are in this so-called world of freedom but when we exercise that freedom, we become ridiculed for making a choice. I would rather end a pregnancy instead of bringing a child into a world that they are forced to struggle and go without ; to make a child suffer is a far worse act then dissolving the birth of an unborn/ undeveloped fetus. In Roe v. Wade, a landmark Supreme Court decision in 1973, stated that a woman and her doctor may freely decide to abort a pregnancy during the first trimester, state governments can restrict abortion access after the first trimester with laws intended to protect the woman's health, and abortion after fetal viability must be available if the woman's health or life are at risk. Unfortunately, there are several different reasons that conclude why abortions are appropriate in certain cases. A few examples depend on one’s financial stability, age, environment, and their position of dependency. As discussed in the previous paragraph, I discussed the different reasons in which several women feel obligated to get abortions. For the women who go through with their pregnancies, who are not financially stable or who are irresponsible, results in the neglection of their children, foster care or put up for adoption, led into prostitution, and the abuse of drugs and alcohol. It results in a life time of misery and suffering for the child all because their parents never had their best interest at heart.
One of the most ethical controversial issues being debated now in United States is whether late- term abortion should be banned or not. Most people argued that it is proper to ban late-term abortion. They believe that it is un-ethical and a murder of an unborn child not a right of freedom of choice. It is an immoral act and violates the social and religious norms. On the other hand some people argued that late-term abortion should not be banned because it is necessary to terminate a fetus when the life of the woman is in danger as a result of complicated pregnancy; or when pregnancy result from incest or rape and the woman may be late in finding out that she is pregnant.
Attacking an individual who has no means to defend them self is wrong, which is why I strongly oppose abortion. Abortion is unconstitutional. Several times during the course of history the government has become involved with the issue. As evidenced by the well-known case of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court has expressed it strong discontent with abortion. In this landmark case, the Court ruled that a pregnancy may be aborted during the first trimester, because the embryo is not yet viable.
These are all reason that could be avoided, and save many lives in the early stages. One controversial reason a woman might have an abortion is if she has been raped. There are very few cases like this, and in the instance of pregnancy resulting from rape, Linda Lowen informs us “proper medical care can ensure that a woman will not get pregnant” (Abortion Arguments). Overall, the most common reason for having an abortion is that “over 95 percent… [are] women who simply do not want to have a baby” (Abortion is Murder). Women who get pregnant and are not ready to accept the responsibility should not let this result in the death of a human
Abortion: Pro-Life How would you feel if you knew that you had no option but death? Everyday there are countless numbers of babies that are killed before given a chance to live. They are forced to face death within their first days of conception and will never have a say in whether or not to live, since death is their only option. Abortion is one of the most controversial topics discussed around the world and has been for many years since its rising popularity began many years ago. Abortion has increasingly become accepted and is performed in countless countries.
Women across the country who must go through the traumatizing horrors of abortion are often categorized as shameful. They are judged enough already and certainly don’t deserve to bear the burden of ugly legislation. Planned Parenthood is an organization who supports women’s rights and is in disagreement with the things that they must put women through because of these regulations. The unborn fetus has the right to live. There is an option involving unwanted pregnancies that could save unborn fetuses from being killed. This option would be giving the newborn up for adoption to another person or persons who aren’t allowed to have children because of some complication. This doesn’t hurt anyone because the woman who doesn’t want to keep the baby gives it to another couple or person who wants a child. Having an abortion is killing an innocent person for insignificant reasons.
This individual has a fundamental right to life, which must be protected (“Pro & Con Arguments: “Should Abortion Be Legal?”” par. 2). To many the thought of killing an innocent unborn child as a form of contraceptive is wrong and inhumane. Since 1969, the CDC requests information from health agencies to do surveillance on the number and characteristics of women who legally abort a child (Pazol; pg. 1).
Abortion Abortion is a very debatable topic in the United States and there is no clear answer if it’s permissible or not. Abortion can be defined as, the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy at any stage of the pregnancy. Many people believe that abortion should be outlawed, others believe it should be an option, and last view being a mix between both. The mixed view population believe that in cases of rape the mother can have an option to abort or not, or if the fetus reaches a certain age it is not permissible to abort it. Thomson stakes her claim by focusing on three circumstances where she believes abortions to be permissible.
