Albert started out by telling us what the main uses of coal were to educate his audience and get them up to speed. Albert tells us about where coal usage has been and when we have taken it. He finished of the section about “Coal: The once and future fuel” but stating how the issue on coal usage is not just going to go away and people need to look into the causes and at the numbers, which transitioned into the “Inconvenient truths about coal” section. Here, he listed the top two CO2 releasers and gave his opinion on why people are going after the power plants. Albert then brings you to China, where most of these power plants are, and, have the least regulations in place. Albert compares the usage between China and the U.S. and discusses the different “near zero emissions” plants both countries have begun construction on. Overall, I feel Albert did a nice job on fitting all of his arguments together in a way that made sense and flowed well. I did not feel Albert did a transition just because he could. There was evidence of cross referencing and revisiting transitions throughout this article. For example; in the “Coal: The once and future fuel” section, Albert talks about how the growing industry and coal demand markets are in developing countries such as China. He comes back later in the article and finishes discussion China’s plants and their
