Among some of these techniques, Wal-Mart encourages advancement from within the organization, which promotes self-motivation. Wal-Mart also offers its employees a benefit compensation package in which it can be wholly an organizational contribution or the employee can add their own funds. Wal-Mart understands and acknowledges the importance of a code of ethics program. Their ethics program has three main points: respect for the individual, service to customers, and striving for excellence. (Wal-Mart Statement of Ethics, 2008). Wal-Mart, as an organization, practices direct conflict management on a daily basis. However, there are instances when the personalities involved may not allow for direct conflict resolution, so Wal-Mart has monthly meetings for indirect conflict resolutions.
