References (Citations) ABSTRACT The exposure to violence in television, movies, video games, cell phones, and on the internet increases the risk of violent behavior. Media violence causes a threat to public health. Fictional television and film violence increases aggression and violence in young viewers. Video games are also adding to this harmful cause. Television news violence sometimes becomes responsible for suicides and other acts of violence. This paper reviews some of the research projects by researchers and professors in relation to the effects of media violence on children and young generation. INTRODUCTION Media violence is one of the most debated public issues society is facing today. There’s no escaping it! We cannot run or hide from it because no matter where we go it will find us. We are trapped! And the worst part of this scenario is that we are addicted to it. Violence is everywhere and we all have an addiction for it. We are exposed to it in everyday and we love to watch violence on television. There are many different representations of violence evident in movies and Television. The media in today’s society is very influential on children. There are many things that children at a very young age are learning, for example violence. Many children learn violent behavior and they become violent and aggressive children because they are exposed to so much mature content. Many
