Introduction For any organization and or company to function effectively, it is imperative that the correct types of people are recruited. It goes without saying that Leaders and Managers play a pivotal role in steering the company to the right direction. After all, why would one start a business if they are not intending to grow their business to make capital? Equally important is the ability to train current workforce so that they add value to the company. Not only is the company concerned leaders and managers, but effective teams need to be put together to implement strategies beneficial to the company. The leader provides direction and the employees have some input, but the leader make the decision. The Manager plans and budgets according to the company’s key strategic plans. 1.2 Provide examples of how you have seen these demonstrated (effectively and not) in your career in the transport industry. Skills development and training for Putco employees as well as future employees are close to the heart of the transport sector. Putco through various initiatives support development of learners towards engineering fields for transport sector, development and training of bus specific artisans and other transport related skills. In addition the organisation supports transport, engineering, public service management development through partnerships with South African universities such as University of Johannesburg, University of Witwatersrand, Wits Business School and UNISA. It is believed that Bill Gates was a transactional leader, evidenced by the fact that he asked difficult questions to new product teams in order to be sure they understood the goals. Their answers to the difficult questions would determine their level of understanding (Spahr, 2016). The nature of my work is already pre-determined by set regulations like Skills Development Act, Public Finance Management Act and company set policies and procedures. One has to comply with those in order to be on the right side of the law. This style has worked for me in most instances. It has also worked well for me because I am hired to ensure that everyone is doing what they are supposed to
