DIFFERENCES BETWEEN TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETATION ENGLISH Translation and interpretation are like two sides of one coin. The goal for both is same that is to convert from one language to another but the medium of work is different. The basic requirement of translation services and interpretation services is to convert one language to another, to enable easy communication. Though the requirement is the same, yet both translation services and interpretation services require different skills, aptitude and even the knowledge of languages. The main difference which lies between interpretation and translation is their medium of conversion. Interpretation is done orally whereas translation is carried out in written form. Language translation is done by language translators and it requires converting source language to target language in written form. All language translators are those professionals who are engaged by the translation services for carrying out all language translation. All language translators should be adept in all types of languages for executing flawless translation. The fundamental necessity for translators is to have immense writing talent as well as high analytical abilities in order to convert the source language to the target language with utmost precision. The translators have a set period of time in which they need to carry out the translation and produce the result in such a way so that it does not seem to be translated. Several reference materials, dictionaries are needed to be consulted to bring forth the coveted translation. Language interpretation services on the other hand provide conversion of the source language to the target language in verbal form.
