These diverse worlds can be compared and contrasted by everyone; however, it is impossible to predict extenuating circumstances that you will go through. First of all, high school is the first step to a higher level of learning. The topics being taught in high school are generalized in basic Math, Science, English, History, and many other subjects. In High school, students are more relaxed with their responsibilities. The assignments are not that complicated and heavy in a sense that there are fewer requirements and their due dates are not immediate.
High School Cliques Entering high school is one of the most frightening times in a young person’s life. One of every young person’s worry going into high school, is “will I fit in?” You wonder if you will have to eat lunch alone, walk the hall ways alone, or blend in and be accepted. As far back as history has noted cliques are divided into three types of groups. The popular/jock type kids, the nerdy, glass wearing, pocket protector type and the average kid who accepts and blends with all. Although God created us all equal that is far from how your peer groups accept one another.
well I will tell you in right here in this paragraph. A proper time for students to use there phones you would think would be at lunch or either during passing periods. During lunch we have forty five minutes of social time why not make that with cell phones as well. I know plenty of students probably do it anyways when we are not supposed to, and to be honest I am one of those as well. When we are eating no teachers are around us giving us more lessons.
Studies have shown that if two thousand students sign up for the fall semester at the end of the fall semester there is one thousand nine hundred and ninety students left. There is a 99% chance that if you sign up for the fall classes that you will still be in them at the end of the semester. The ten students that dropped out of classes most likely dropped out because of financial reasons, medical reasons, or they weren’t doing their duties as a student to be on class on time and study for tests, not because of the opposite gender. The opposite sex should not be affecting the retention rates. Students are not missing class to go scope out the opposite sex and to spend all day with them not attending any of their classes.
At ACLC, I could take classes during the school year if my schedule and free periods allowed it. That allowed me to take more classes at the College than any Encinal or Alameda High student. With advantages like free periods and the ability to take college courses year-round that prepare you for college classes and life, I am pleased that I didn’t choose to go to a traditional high
There is nothing bad in just letting students do and go where they want during lunch for all high school students. Most kids have ways off campus anyway, or have ways to sneak around the rules. The administrators should change lunch to open lunch for every
In high school, how well you did was based through testing, memorization, and repetition. You didn’t need to pay for books, and the registration process was a breeze. However, another question brought up is Why More Students are Choosing Community College over Traditional Four-Year schools? Grace Chen enthusiastically writes how as long as tuition
Some of the schools didn’t know how to get the money to pay their employees. For example, the janitor basically cleans up after the students who are in high school. The fewer janitors there are the more time it takes to clean up the school before the next day starts. If the school is not going to be a year round, then the school doesn’t need to hire more janitors because the school is not going to be a year round. For instance, two of the janitors can come to school on the holidays, when there are no employees or students to mess up while they are trying to clean the school.
INTRODUCING THE PROBLEM In the last 20 years the United States has dropped from being first in education to a low 7th. The average 15 year old in the United States of America can barely do simple math and apply it to real world applications compared to other schools all over the globe in places like Asia, Europe, and Africa. Clearly other countries are taking new approaches to education that is defeating what the USA is doing. Luckily there is a solution. Ever since school was started the USA has been having a school system where students go to class for a particular length and then get a long summer break.
The time after school is used for extracurriculars and sports for the school, as well as gives students and teachers time at home. Alexandra Sifferlin raises the point that “[a] new system could also impact local businesses that rely on after-school labor from students” (Sifferlin). One cannot deny that student workers are needed by some businesses to maintain income and stay stable. Students get out of school early so time is allowed for work at night. However, not every high school student is concerned with issue because not all are employed.
