We were all somehow exposed to different backgrounds, as well as lifestyles. Therefore, it’s safe to say that the statement “Is College for Everyone” doesn’t imply to certain people who were raised to think otherwise. However, Pharinet seems to think that most kids should consider not going to college at all. Pharinet went on to explain how most students will find themselves working full-time jobs to help pay the expenses of college, in result their grades begins to drop. Then the student decides to drop to a part-time worker, register for less class hours to find more time to work on improving their grades.
We started out great, but ended up lap sided because ever since I started school, he got all jealous and accusing me of cheating when I am doing my school work. The reason for the accusation was not spending enough time like we used to. I explain this to him before we got married that I will be focusing on my degree, therefore our time spent together will be limited. He said he understood and it was fine, yet he made my life very stressful in the process. As a
Crabbe lies about why he is skipping out on class because he needs to go have another drink to calm himself down. “Wasn’t feeling well sir. Thought I’d get dressed and take it easy.” (Bell, 24). Alcoholics will tend to hide their drinks and both empty and full bottles because they know that alcoholism is socially
In Rudy’s case in was not his fear of failure that drove him, but his constant failings and people telling him he couldn’t do it because he was too small, not smart enough or had no athletic skill. In high school his teacher calls him a “dreamer not a doer.” When he tries to take a tour of his dream school, Notre Dame the same teacher says to him, “The secret to happiness in this life is to be grateful for the gifts the good lord had bestowed on us, Rudy not everyone is meant to go to college.” After Pete’s death Rudy then decided he could no longer wait to follow his dream. The more Rudy failed at something the harder he worked. While attending Holy Cross he was denied entry into Notre Dame three times. With each failure he would pick himself back up and work even harder.
One group of people felt that there were good ideas for getting involved in the conflict, however they thought it would be a useless battle with too much burden on the economy. The other group of people thought the United States had to get involved in Vietnam and that we needed to stay until we got the job done. The United States finally started pulling the troops out in the early 1970’s. Student unrest was a key aspect of the Vietnam War. Student activists brought about antiwar ideals and protested their opposition to the war.
Mainly, people who have suffered the loss of a loved one in those events are asking that there be school safety and the gun control law passed. For the reasons that they don’t want those events to take place again and have the reminder and thought of another family losing someone. Then there are the others who think that it is too much money spent and schools can’t afford the hiring of student resource officers along with them opposing the gun control law being passed. By which they oppose the gun control law because they spend their spare time out hunting or in a range. All of this has been a controversy in our nation and will continue because we all have different perspective on this topic.
Most current college students feels as if there are way more cons of being a college student then pros simple because of the stress and length of time, it takes to complete college. Then you have those students who come and leave college, get caught up and regret they ever left. I guess college is one of those things that really depend on person, attitude, and determination. If you didn’t get anything out this paper I wanted you to get the point of not letting someone choose college for you, don’t even let college choose you, you pick up a book, computer of magazine and you choose college. Do your research and don’t become a statistic become successful and complete as many goals on the list and let that be your college, and you
I can relate to the “bad student”, and it wasn’t a good feeling knowing that you were treated as such. But there’s always hope, you just have to believe in yourself and that’s when you start noticing some changes in your life. It wasn’t until I reached my 2nd year of college that I had to make a drastic change in my habits. All these years of being a bad student finally clicked with me. There came a point in my life where if I wasn’t doing anything for myself, than I would I see myself being locked up or homeless in the future and I wasn’t going to let that happen to myself, and if I wanted to become successful in pursuing my education than I would have to become that “good
My plans first became interrupted when I was told by my parents that they would not be able to afford my college education. With this I was practically forced to go seek employment. Forced to go on my own from the age of 17 years old, I ended up ina bad relationship. During that time, I was granted the opportunity to go back to college at the expense of the company for which I worked. Because my lover was jealous and could barely read or write he was intimidated and stopped me from attending.
Submitting assignments while attending college is an important element in successfully passing my classes. Attempting to pass classes as a procrastinator is no easy task. Well, actually, it is nearly impossible. I must say, I thought I was the exception and thought I could procrastinate my way through the semester. As a result of my own procrastination I have seen an increase in my stress, disappointed instructors, and a drop in my grades.
