Throughout the years, scientists and other experts developed various ways on how to save electricity. Daylight saving time, which was initiated by Benjamin Franklin in 1784, is one method in which individuals can properly maintain the environment. Due to its massive significance to mankind’s society and surroundings, the daylight savings time should be continuously regulated for its outstanding benefits such as crime reduction, energy conservation and traffic safety. Daylight saving time offers a more harmless environment; it decreases crime rates that usually happen during the evening.
Many organizations are raising money to help put Greensburg back on the map. Greensburg’s City Council held a meeting and they decided to rebuild Greensburg “Green”. Leadership in Energy Environmental Design (LEED) is helping Greensburg live up to its name of being “Green”! The City Council held another meeting and approved a resolution that stated all city buildings must be built according to the LEED platinum rating. Platinum is the highest rating of going “green.” With the help of a non-profit organization called Greensburg Greentown they are working together to help Greensburg reach its town goal of using 100% of renewable energy 100% of the time.

The Evergreen Brickworks is located off Bayview and Don River Valley. From my trip to Brickworks, the amount of work put in by the Evergreen charity has made a huge environmental impact to not only the brickworks but to other locations around Toronto. Evergreen has made a commitment to ensure building and living standards to safer and healthier environment. At a first glance the place seemed old and rusty and looks as if it was in dire need of repairs, and as I started to walk around I noticed certain changes in the buildings and surroundings. During the tour, the tour guide made it more evident of the changes done to brickworks.
Hydroelectricity is the production of power through use of the gravitational force of falling water or flowing water. Lastly solar energy is using the suns energy to produce electricity. Solar energy is one the fastest growing energy sources and new technologies are developing at a rapid pace. The main thing about all this there sources of energy is that they are environmental friendly, and their maintenance is low cost if compared with other sources of energy.
