"Cultural practices are never erased; they are transformed." I partially agree with this statement because some cultural practices have died out as new ones are introduced. Where as on the other hand cultural practices are transformed as society becomes more modernized. For example technological advances. This is a result of cultural retention and cultural erasure. Cultural erasure can be defined as practices which have died out or are currently dying. However due to definitions of culture as material and non-material, a culture can survive through artifacts it has left behind (material) and though language (non-material).
