Indiana’s motivation to find the Holy Grail inside the cave was his father. His father had returning the Holy Grail to him. If he had failed, he would have lost his father and possibly even his own life and this so I chose and I chose numberthis and it looks like he had taught Indiana morals and the knowledge of the book of clues to get through the cave. Indiana’s most valuable heroic characteristics include: bravery and sacrificial. I noticed these particular characteristics while he was on his journey into the cave to find the Holy Grail.
He continues to lash out on his disagreements with his father until he truly understands his father’s true feelings for him. When Adam makes the choice to be active in his town’s militia, he begins his journey into adulthood. By day two of this novel Adam is partaking in one of history’s bloodiest battles and overcomes many difficult scenarios. One described on page 102 by Fast says, “Once I had established a fantasy about my father being alive, I was able to break it down and argue with myself, and then accept the fact that Father was dead.” Adam is overwhelmed by witnessing the death of his father, but quickly calms himself in a mature manor,
After Theseus was old enough and proved himself strong enough by lifting a huge boulder to uncover gifts his father left for him, he went on a journey to find and meet his father. His grandfather advised Theseus to travel by sea for there were many dangers on the road but this only enticed Theseus even more to travel the road for the adventures he would undergo. Theseus’s quest was one of self discovery and personal information. Based on the stories of his mother, Theseus set out to find his father, and being mortal, the quest of Theseus exposed what greatness he had within him. Choosing to take the dangerous path by land, Theseus had to defeat the guardians of the 6 entrances to the underworld, again all while being mortal.

The military turns an average man into every American citizen’s hero. On September eleven, true bravery was also shown when thousands of people ran towards the fire to try and save even just a single life. They risked their life in order to save a strangers life. Like our soldiers, men like these are the true examples of what heroes are. Heroes can be close to home like a mom or a dad, or even far from reality like a fantasy figure.
He is obviously biased against his father and wants his mother’s sole attention. This point of view provides humor because Larry thinks that he actually belongs in his father’s place, as his mother’s sole companion. Sexuality is involved in the story’s humor because the boy sees his mother as a spouse and he thinks that they can have children together. 3. Larry calls it irony that his prayers were answered because he prayed that his father would return from the war, and when his father actually returns from the war, he wishes that he would leave again.

Now if you compare this to the bible you might see that the prophecy of the birth of Jesus talks about him as a savior and to help good win over evil. If you look at the book by Joseph Campbell, The Hero with a Thousand Faces, you would see that he makes a mention of how “A hero ventures forth from the world of common day into a region of supernatural wonder: fabulous forces are there encountered and a decisive victory is won: the hero comes back from this mysterious adventure with the power
This pathos describes how Lincoln would care for his people and how he would put the task of helping the people suffering from the war first, serving as a strong pathos since it is not only emotionally affecting his people, but also encouraging and giving them hope. The war destroyed millions of families. Lincoln in the first place gave his attention on healing the people and their families, instead of describing how beautiful the future would be and giving unrealistic assumptions This pathos and ethos made people, no matter the North or the South, to feel that they are in unity. Both sides were suffering the same war and urged to end it, while they shared a same religion. God plays an important role to connect the people together, which enhances Lincoln’s credibility in his speech besides his position as a president and occasion of this speech.
