Relationships and communication skills are closely linked, as good communication will help to build good relationships. Relationships are influenced by the way we communicate this not only includes the language we use and how we listen to others but also our body language, gestures and facial expressions. I try to look them in the eyes and speak clearly and not only show up my good qualities but let them know I am open to criticism and critiques and want to learn, that I am not all high and mighty type. My plan should address the three highlighted competencies of motivation, empathy and relationship. Motivation competency will be addressed in my development plan by documenting and reinforcing the need to build my self-confidence in these relationships, to convey my value added to the management team. This will yield improved recognition for my message as well as validate my presence at the management level.
