Communication is a very important skill in everyday life, it helps us express ourselves, our feelings and needs, share ideas and information, to show concerns over a situation. Communication can help us in many care work circumstances as we can support and reassure, build and maintain a relationship, ask questions and share experiences. 1.2) Explain how communication affects relationships in the work setting.
Communication is very important when it comes to developing a positive relationship with service users and their families, as well as work colleagues and other professionals. People communicate to enable them to put forward their ideas to be conveyed clearly. Communication is a process where by two or more people swap ideas, feelings and fact in a way or ways that each party come into a common understanding of a message. * Explaining how communication affects relationships in the work setting Communication breakdown in the work setting can result to number of things that include; alienation, anxiety, as well as feeling isolated. It is important to be a team player especially when working in a team and to get along with members of staff no matter your differences.

Communication can be used to bring out changes in attitudes, motivate people and establish and maintain relationships. Communication is vital for seeking and providing information. We communicate to express our emotions like courage or fear, joy or sorrow, satisfaction or disappointment with appropriate gestures and words. Communication is crucial for developing positive relationships with children, young people and their families, colleagues and other professionals.
• Social - To be able to form positive relationships. • Emotional - To be loved and accepted. • Meeting personal potential - To be able to achieve and develop to full potential. 1.2 Explain how effective communication affects all aspects of own work: In relationships, the building of trust and understanding between people makes it easier to get things done. If I work as part of a team, I will need to work alongside colleagues and share a workload.
1.1 Identify the different reasons that people communicate The reasons that people communicate is to express their feelings, thoughts, emotions and needs. People communicate in order to share their ideas and information and to request assistance. People also communicate to form relationships; socialise; ask questions; and to share their past experiences with one another. A person may need to communicate for the purpose of establishing or continuing to maintain relationships with people; this could be for ideas or, instructions/directions. Communication is also a great way to show another person encouragement or to make others feel valued and understood in everyday life.

Good communication is crucial for developing a positive relationship with your service user as you need to be able to let them express their needs and feelings, give and also understand instructions. It is also important to be able to communicate to show encouragement and also share feeling and opinions 1.2 .Effective communication is vital to the role of the Carer as it reduces the chances of making mistakes, and helps to build a positive trusted relationship. It’s also important to communicate accurately to other Carers, management and sometimes the service users family members as information and messages can need to be passed on 1.3 .Observing an individual’s reaction when communicating with them is essential.

This then gives us a better understanding of all of their needs as individuals, making sure their needs and preferences are being met. By building trust, preventing misunderstandings and developing our skills and knowledge we can discuss options and choices available and allow them to make informed choices regarding their care. 1.3- Explain why it is important to observe an individuals reaction when communicating with them.
This can then create conflict which could cause staff to not achieve their full potential within the work place. 2.2:Describe the factors to consider when promoting effective communication. Effective Communication can improve relationships, team building, decision-making and problem solving. It can also enable you to communicate negative of difficult messages without causing conflict or
Two – way communication is required to form relationships and establish the boundaries . 4.Getting to know each other. Getting to know people by listening and talking to them enable to develop an understanding which will lead to stronger relationship in longer term. Explain how effective communication can affect relationships in an adult social care setting between: Colleagues and other professionals: Effective communication in an adult social care setting between colleges and other professional is very important and have significant affect on service providing by them. Effective communication helps correctly exchanging information, develop understanding of the needs of an individual, Also forming a good working relationship and working partnership with benefits for everyone, especially individuals using the service.
We all also need to do develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and professionals who have contact with the service that you are a part of. We need communicate so we can share information with people who are using the services so they can provide and receive information. People who are using the service need to communication as they need to express the way that they are feeling, if they have any thoughts and ideas they will be able to express that, we need to maintain good working relationships with our colleagues as we will needs to share and receive information with them and knowing what support is needed if there is any. A client who is using the service will need to be able to communicate somehow to express if there is anything wrong with them or another client who is using the service. If there is a client who attends a day centre and a incident has happened at home the day centre will need to be informed of this.
