Adriana Covarrubias Ms. Villarreal Writing 110 April 13, 2011 First in the Family to go to College When I made the decision to attend college, aside from my grandparents and parents, most of my family had doubts about my being serious. I come from a strong Hispanic family with the best morals and hard-working, blue-collar ethics. The men in my family have provided for their families, and we have a big family. However, with the big family came the notion that college wasn’t in the equation. The University of La Verne’s core values have been present in my life throughout the years.

In laboratory registration, EHRs are used more often especially in regards to making sure that all patient information is correct before running or using certain medication. The interoperability of EHRs are given a more efficient way to communicate and get information about a patient, but it also
The positive side of using EHRs is that it will benefit the patient by giving them convenience, portability, and efficiency. Patients can go to what healthcare facility they choose and not have to worry about their records becoming lost or missing important information. Their privacy remains intact due to several security measures put in place to prevent unwanted users to gain access (National Library of Medicine. 1996). For doctors and hospitals, the pros of using EHRs are that they reduce clerical errors and gives them computerized decision support (Hoffmann, 2009).
“Communication is key… The best pharmacists are the ones who have a lot of good medical knowledge, but who also like to sit down and talk to patients” (Pharmacist What They Do 3). The best pharmacists will be those who not only know their subject matter but also know their clients and how to interact with them. A good pharmacist will establish and maintain warm and genuine interpersonal relationships with clients as well as with the other healthcare providers in a client life. Jeffrey Bravo Professor Hernandez English 96 January 25, 2014 Cultural Remembrance It is always important for one to go back to their original roots to know who they were. People forget a lot of the times where they came from and who they really were before their new life. In the memoir The Distance Between Us by Reyna Grande she and her family go through many phases in the United States where they always yearn back for Mexico. Similarly many immigrants including my family always have moments in their life when they want to go back to Mexico. In the film 30 Days Immigration by Morgan Spurlock Minutemen Frank George is an immigrant from Cuba who has integrated well in the United States.

When I arrived at the house we had rented along the island. The sandy beach met the water, and made it look like something out of a fairy tale. It was around 3.30 in the morning; I quickly unpacked the car, and headed to bed. The first days of my visit had me Awestruck, but sadden to leave.
I also enjoy helping others and giving advice, making people feel good about themselves and making sure they are heading in the right direction. My father works in the health care sector and he talks to me in a certain way sometimes where we can communicate on the same level like he would do with his service users at work. This made me think about how I would love to progress into a career in counselling. I am able to carry out independent research and write reports summarising my findings. I have learned to look at evidence carefully and analyse a range of data.
My Own Migration By Jimmy Jackson. Ever since I was a little boy, I always thought that “immigration” was just a certain screening or process that people underwent depending upon a country’s legal system, and everybody’s experience was pretty much the same. Well, now that I am older, I look back on my life and realize that immigrants have been a part of my everyday life (particularly my own ancestors), and they have had definite impacts on who I am today. As I further my studies at the University Of Wyoming, I have delved into the actual meaning and study of immigration, and learned about what type of immigrants make up the United States and it’s so called “melting pot” that exists today. I surely realize that everyone has a different,
It’s also important that they also respect their client’s beliefs, values, past experiences, familiar, and cultural background in order for treatment to be effective. What I have learned is that in order for me to better myself at my career my clinical gestalt has to be more focused on what is happening at that moment in time with my client. With that in mind, as a clinician I can help my client with their own support in addressing their issue with addiction. The areas of my strength can not only benefit my career, but it can benefit my client by showing them that anything is possible if they just put their mind to it. Lastly, I will always be learning new techniques and ways to become better in my career and with my clients.
