The process consists of ongoing, day-to-day operations, which include initiating, planning, executing, monitoring/controlling and closing (Mauk, 2009). In the initiating stage, the project is defined and/or a phase of an existing project is redefined to achieve optimal success. During the planning stage, the scope of the project, objectives and the order of action is developed. Next, executing the specifications of the project that has been outlined begin. Then the monitoring/controlling stage lets the team adjust any specifications that may become costly in the course of executing or modify specifications that may have been overlooked during the planning stage.
Role of Project Leader “As the process leader, your job, if not your mantra, is to enable your group to approach this standard and keep them there” (DeCarlo, 2004, p. 146). A project cannot be considered a success if the knowledge needed to maintain it and create it on a daily basis has not been developed. A project leader role “is a complex, high-speed, self-correcting venture during which people interact in search of a desirable result under conditions of high uncertainty, high change, and high stress” (DeCarlo, 2004, p.34). A project leader must know what skills are needed to complete, support, and produce the project. They also need to understand the skills that will help the other team members meet the strategic goals, and which investments that are required to develop those skills.
And they understand the importance of reviewing and redesigning their structures on an ongoing basis. According to renowned management theorist Henry Mintzberg, an organization's structure emerges from the interplay of the organization's strategy, the environmental forces it experiences, and the organizational structure itself. When these fit together well, they combine to create organizations that can perform well. When they don't fit, then the organization is likely to experience severe problems. Different structures arise from the different characteristics of these organizations, and from the different forces that shape them (which Mintzberg calls the "basic pulls" on an organization).

As I have reached the end of this human resources management course I have learned that every aspect of HRM works together to perform a primary function. Human resources planning consist of managing an organizations employees, money, and product. Recruitment is informed by human resources planning, job analysis, and job design and it serves as the foundation for effective selection, compensation and benefits, as well as for training, development and performance appraisal (Youssef, 2012).

The role of a project manager is very simple and straight forward job. With project managers they will have combinations of skills like the ability to ask penetrating questions, identify unstated assumptions and resolve conflicts and more skills which I will include later on.
