There are many types of effective intervention strategies that are put into place to help manage students that are diagnosed with EBD. Regardless of the intervention used in school, to help regulate the child’s behavior, the purpose of intervention is to allow the student to manage their own behavior no matter where they are. Because of that reason, the self-management strategy is an effective technique of providing support to EBD children. Advocates of Cognitive Behavioral Intervention attest to the mutual relationship with behaviors and thoughts as a primary principle of their method. Engage CBIs children in self-management, which involve; self-control, self-instruction, self-evaluating, self-monitoring, and self-reinforcement.

In the school when managing behaviour, all members of staff need to be aware of school polices and procedures. Character education is the deliberate effort to develop good character based on core virtues that are good for the individual and good for society(Turiel,1993) Character education is any deliberate approach by which school personnel, often in conjunction with parents and community members help children and youth become caring, principled, and responsible (Bahm,1993). Bullying is a form of aggressive behavior manifested by the use of force or coercion to affect others, particularly when the behavior is habitual and involves an imbalance of power. It can include verbal harassment, physical assault or coercion and may be directed repeatedly towards particular victims, perhaps on grounds of race, religion, gender, sexuality, or ability.
What do the standards focus on? The fundamental principle of the standards is to clarify the obligations of education and training providers ensuring that students with disabilities are able to access same rights in education without discrimination and are treated with dignity. UNICEF 2007 promotes the rights of students with disabilities. The document spells out the services the person or a child in education or society would receive. It emphasizes upon enjoying the benefits of education and training in a supportive environment which values and encourages participation by all students, irrespective of disabilities.

Dwyer, NCSP According to this article there are certain guidelines and procedural safeguards that are designed to assure that students with disabilities or those that are receiving special education were not randomly removed from their parent- approved program without consent. The article provides a set of practical guideline that will improve the chance that positive behaviors will increase and negative behaviors will decrease among children with disabilities. The article gave specific and effective interventions for every negative and positive behaviors of the students. These interventions may also be applied to other troubling students other than those who are receiving special education. The article also gave examples of a certain negative behavior with its own intervention and the rational of the intervention.
