1.) The overview of the medical assistant certification program. Medical assistants have two to main jobs in a doctor’s office. We do administrative and Clinical duties. We work in many different fields of health care. Physicians’ offices of all types. Our duties very from what site we are at. As a medical assistant we have a lot of duties. We usually have these duties on a normal work day. Take patient history and measure vital signs, Help the physician with patient examinations, Give patient injections as directed by the physician, Schedule patient appointments, Prepare blood for laboratory tests. What issues are currently in the news about health care? In the news I have learned that we are getting a new and improved heather care reform. This is called the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. This is to put forth affordable health care to everyone. In previous the health care that people were getting was all over. People were getting kicked off for preexisting conditions. Now adults and children don’t have to worry that they not get the medication that is needed to keep them healthy. They won’t have to worry that bills are not being covered by the insurance companies. No one is going to be taken advantage of.(www.whitehouse.gov ) 4.) Personality traits and skill sets required for your profession From what I have learned on my http://www.mynextmove.org/ is that people in this field should like helping people, teaching and talking. We do well with cooperation, self-control, stress tolerance, integrity, dependability, and details. I took my personality test and this is what it said. I am investigative, social and enterprising. I got a 39 for my investigative. So that puts me at searching of facts and figuring out problems. I also got a 27 for social . That puts me at teaching. Also 22 for enterprising, that means that I like to starting up and carrying out projects. I know that I will have to work on self-control. I can try and take over a lot of things.
