These quotes is relevant to me that in every fault or failure I make I don’t have to be defensive about it but accept these mistakes and to use them as stepping stone to improve myself and change for the better. “Well done is better than well said.” and “Speak little, do much.” [The meaning of these words is fairly easy to understand, but they serve as an excellent reminder to us. The things that we DO for others are so much more important than the things we SAY to others. In other words: “Actions Speak Louder Than Words.” So simple… but so very important to the relationships we are trying to build every day. These quotations are very relevant to me, especially because I am a very expressive or kind of a talkative person.
The evidence that he provides does reflect his overall statements or arguments. His argument is extremely convincing and even being part of the generation that he is ‘bashing or putting down’ it is hard to disagree with; he makes an eye opening argument that someone from the millennial generation might not have realized before. His bluntness and use of many outside individual opinions makes the article even more persuasive where his word choice is leaning towards a distinct side of opinion. I do believe that the evidence can be looked at a different way. For instance, who is to say that this new approach to the workforce by this generation is so necessarily a bad thing?
This question does not suggest that your audience is stupid or uneducated. As we saw in Chapter 1, there is a great deal of confusion today about such matters as free will, truth, knowledge, opinion, and morality. Many intelligent and educated people have fallen victim to ideas and attitudes that cripple their creative and critical faculties. In many cases, your audience will appreciate your insights only if you first help them get beyond their misconceptions. Is Your Audience’s Perspective Likely to Be Narrow?
With this respect comes a stronger conscience as well as greater morals. Diving deep into ideas on how to earn the idea of respect really emphasized the solution to the whole problem association with young adults and the increase in problems with them. Metaphors can be a great way to simplify a complicated subject to enable a wider variety of audiences to understand it more thoroughly, which essentially leads to greater enjoyment of the reading. A great example of using a metaphor to allow the reader to understand better is when the author states “It is an island apart, striving to maintain itself in a sea of change.” (pg 391). This is referring to how the household is not connected with the outer world and is therefore isolated from any interactions.
Poor communication will make people feel at least let down and ignored to very angry and upset. The better the communication the better people work together and the better people’s needs are recognised and taken into account. 2.2 Describe the factors to consider when promoting effective communication There are many different factors to consider for effective communication, You have to take into account peoples basic understanding of the subject, If you talk down to people they will get upset yet if you don’t explain enough they won’t be able to follow and understand. They feel that they do not have time to take care of themselves, so they continue to hesitate between these two spaces. Thanks to research in Positive Psychology, we know that this way of approaching work, does not work as it is backwards. I believe if we can find a way of becoming positive in the present, then our brains work even more successfully, as we’re able to work harder, faster and more intelligent. 6) What are the implications or consequences of the speaker’s conclusions? The only issue I could think of would be people are not sure that this constant focus on happiness is healthy or desirable.
I know the degree per say is not a “magic formula”, but it does help when going for work to show the employer that you are a little more serious about the position and that you have that advantage over entry level . You can be more confident going in for that position and having the knowledge to understand what you are doing. I believe that I possess qualities that are unique to me such
Keeping my emotions in check will help me to think clearly and guide constructive communication; trying to dominate the resolution process will only frustrate the opposition. I will constructively listen to the thoughts and ideas of others and consider them honestly instead of trying to have my own way all of the time. My goal is to defeat my attitude of being a perfectionist. The key is being able to allow myself to make and except the mistakes of others. I do not have to be the best at everything.
It is the highest form of being true, as some people like to call "keeping it real." You can only get there by being true day in and day out. If you stray away from this, people will consider you to be "fake" or fraudulent. Trill also brings a sense of unity. You do not turn your back on those who help you and those who are your friends.
I realize that these changes will not come easy but well worth it in the end. The first major change would be a paradigm shift in how I view communication in general and its connection to listening. I now know that listening is an action word and there are so many things I can do to help the listening process be more fruitful for each party involved. I have come to the realization that communicating is a give and take relationship and not something that is all about me. I will no longer tune people out if I disagree with them but I will truly listen and ask questions.
