Whenever demands were made of me or if I had a query, the mother was always unwilling to make a decision alone. After experiencing the fathers forcefulness when I discussed my reluctance to partake in religious observances, I felt intimidated and unable to refuse any further demands made. Module 1 Journal In the readings for this week, the chapters speak of attitude, legislation, and litigation. The attitude of a person is built on many different kinds of circumstances and how well they can deal with themselves and others. Some people can have a great attitude meaning that they strive always to do their best, be polite, and care for others as well as themselves and do the best they can in society. Others may have a bad attitude and they do not have respect for others and cannot deal with themselves either. They do not care what the consequences are of their actions or how they may affect the people around them.
The protagonist/s in this book are both Ana and Nancy to me. Neither of them purposefully gets in the way of each other’s lives and certainly do not want to harm one another. The antagonist of the play, to me, would be the hectic lives everyone seems to be living. They are so busy that no one is even raising their own children. The point of my ending scene I added on was making a large statement concerning the topic and importance of families.
An Analysis of Everyday Use Everyday use is the article I like the most in all the articles that we learnt. At the first time I see this title; I feel no interest in reading this article, because it’s just an everyday use. But after I read it, I knew that this title has special meaning to the author and for the reader. This title contains a very important question whether or not heritage should be preserved and displayed or integrated into everyday life. People have their point of view to this controversial issue, Like Dee (Wangero) in the story, in paragraph 70, line 4, “Hang them,” she said.
After telling us his story, he goes on to tell us the importance of small details and how there’s no better time to do a good deed than the present. Something we all know is that once time passes, it is never coming back. So why don’t we try to make the best out of every moment? Most of us are unfortunately always sitting around and waiting for the perfect moment to come, not knowing that the perfect moment is literally passing us by. Even the simplest of acts play a role in another person’s life.
Good communication skills are crucial in all walks of life. Lack of effective communication skills can negatively impact an individual’s personal as well as his/her professional life. It is not just about speaking effectively or in an impressive manner. A person that continually goes on and on without ever stopping to listen to the others is not a good communicator. Listening is a vital part of communicating and is often overlooked by most people.
Many people argue that times change and people of a previous generation do not know what to do with problems of their generation. This is true but society doesn’t change after just a generation or two, it gradually changes and the previous generation will always have had similar problems that we as in this generation experience. If your belief is so extreme that you would not conform no matter what, what is the harm of getting some advice? It will still and always be up to you how you solve that predicament. We all have our strengths and weaknesses, our pros and cons, what we know and what we don’t know.
If every one of her fans or those wanting to follow the movement of individualism that want to be overly unique the cause is lost. It is cult-like nowadays to be “true to one’s self”. There is no communication began with the Hippie movement, or open ear wanting to hear the needs of one’s own community. With the explosion of social media, many find it essential to function in society today. The use of social media is a factor making a division in community.
It is very important and is always needed to become successful in out society. Some people do not care about their personal ethics no matter where, what, when, and whom they are around. I try and use personal ethics where ever I am because I would want others to always respect me for my honesty and good values, not only in the workplace and in school. Alot of people were taught good morals and to set higher standards for themselves when they were young, but choose not to put them to good use. It is always important to know the difference between right wrong in any type of situation.
It is in fact, the basis of our life. One should always strive hard if he wants to be successful. One should not bother about the attempts he has to make to get successful. All of us have many dreams in our minds. But hardly few manage to get them fulfilled in the first attempt.
