Drunk driving is the leading cause of death for people from the age of six to thirty-three years old (Curran, 1). One in three people will be involved in an alcohol-related crash in their lifetime (MADD, 1). Everyday thirty-six people in the United States die due to the crashes and approximately 700 more are injured in car crashes that involve alcohol-impaired drivers. This year, 10,839 people will die in drunk-driving crashes; one every fifty minutes (MADD, 1). “Cracking down on those who take drugs or drink and then drive is a year round commitment for Warwickshire and West Mercia.”- West Mercia Police.
For every suicide among young people, there are at least 100 suicide attempts. Over 14 percent of high school students have considered suicide, and almost 7 percent have attempted it. These people are depressed and from personal experience you are always down and you do not care about anything. Some people don’t care about other people’s feelings.
Youths are destroying everything, and putting other peoples lives at risk, as well as their own. This is an example of mob mentality, which is physical violence. When a person joins the mob, they are no longer an individual, but part of a huge, driving force. The issue of the negative influence of peers is significant in this event, in that it is the fuel of the riot. When you join the mob, you are now powerless, in that you cannot control what it does, you have to do what it does, and behave accordingly.
Some of those reasons being the crime rates, the costs of what could happen, and injuries. Firearm injuries have killed more than 28,000 Americans each year since 1972 (Ruben). In 2007, thirty-one thousand two hundred twenty four Americans died due to homicides, suicides, and accidental shootings. Accidental shootings happen quite often. If you fail to stop or pullover, I feel the police should have the right to stop you any way they can. Running from the law will only cause more problems for you. Also when the police do find you they will have no choice but to use force to stop you this time. This is where the criminals cry excessive force but it was caused by their own actions. The use of tasers in the schools have become a huge debate.

The violence from the media influences children’s actions and behavior. Violence originates from the feeling of aggression. Mass media influences people to take their aggression out with physical violence.

Defenseless and unsuspecting people are attacked by groups of teens that have one goal in mind: to knock the victim out with one punch.
