All hard work brings a profit. What are your views? Describe 3 traits that you consider to be essential for attaining personal success. Most people in the world believe that all hard work brings profit since it has been ingrained in them by society. Many would define hard work as putting in effort to achieve one's desired results, while profit would generally refer to material wealth, excellent academic grades or fame. The laws of nature tell us that we "reap what we sow", which further substantiates the validity of the above saying. Even cherished children's fairy tales, in all its simplicity, teach us the same values of how hard work will eventually guarantee one personal success. However, is hard work the only essential virtue to putting one on the pathway to success? I will now expound on the three characteristics which I consider to be equally pivotal to achieving success. First and foremost, a pivotal key to unlocking the mystery of attaining personal success in one's life is perseverance. As the saying goes, “tough times never last, but tough people do”. Life is filled with many challenges and obstacles which may burden us and make us feel heavy-laden. In order to attain success, we must not let our guard down by being complacent and lazy. Having perseverance and strong willpower gives us the strength to never give up during these various trials of life, allowing us to shine to our greatest potential. For example, Thomas Edison, the famous inventor of the light bulb we commonly use today, had faced many problems during the period in which he tried to invent the appliance. Despite trying thousands of different ways to make his plans work, he failed each and every time. However, due to his persistence in his work, and determination to complete his works, Thomas Edison eventually solved his problems and achieved success in his plans, creating the electrical
