Advantages of Technology in Classrooms Arnold Andrade Freshman composition English 137-B2 Dr. Batten Throughout time technology has gradually been improved and used more daily. Now technology is commonly found in class rooms around the world. The advantage of technology in classrooms shows a positive effect on teaching and learning. It also has some disadvantages that affect the progress of teachers and student. One advantages of technology in classrooms is accessing information (Schreiner, 2013, p.1). Computers, I-pads, projectors and the use of internet are some examples of everyday use of technology in classrooms. Accessing information using technology allow you to search and discover books that would cost money and time to get the information needed rather than a hard copy book, newspaper or magazine. Even though technology in classrooms has its ups it also has its downs. There are few but some examples of disadvantages of technology in classrooms. One disadvantage is (Fowler, 2013, p.1) technology failures. There are many unexpected problems that could occur when dealing with technology in classrooms. Some examples are computer viruses; hard drive crashes and damages (Fowler, 2013, p.1). These problems are unexpected and can interfere with the teacher’s lesson planned for the day. Another problem is affording up to date technology and staying up to date. From all the information that I gathered from my sources I fell that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Technologies in classrooms are critical to how efficient the class rooms are. I know of the advantages and disadvantages from sitting in class as a student through my education matriculation.
