Bekah Jensen Prof. Haberman History 148 18 October 2011 Annotated Bibliography 1. Isaacson, Portia. "Remembering how it all Came about." CRN.738 (1997): 143-. ProQuest Research Library: Science & Technology. Web. 9 Oct. 2011. The focus of this journal is on the progression of computer consumer value and technology around 1982. The author remarks on the amount of personal computers sold around that time and evaluates the productivity of computer stores. I believe this is a valid source because the author, Portia Isaacson was one of the first outside columnists for CRN and is now president of Dream It Inc, a corporation that helps support businesses through creativity, digital socialization, e-commerce and technology. The author explains the advantages computer use brought to a young accountant at that time. He describes the different parts of her job that were affected by the introduction of computers and how they made a difference in her work overall. I believe this may or may not be a valid source for my project. This is because although the author, Jimmy Myers, is a highly valued reporter for the St. Joseph News-Press in Missouri, he does not specialize in computers. He mostly covers events in local colleges like sports and lifestyles. What is surprising to me is that I found this article on the BHS library research database and I still do not feel that it has enough evidence to support my project. Although he may have good information for his article, he does not have the credentials to take note on the subject himself. 3. "The Next Computer Revolution." American Decades Primary Sources. Ed. "Smarter Classrooms." American School & University 76.1 (2003). Global Issues In Context. Web. 12 Oct. 2011. This website article covers the computer technology available in classrooms today and how it effects the overall learning of the students. It focuses on the average classroom and the average number of computers available in those classrooms and how this provision of technology influences students. It also hints that there may be a lack of attention to student learning styles and a rush to provide classroom computers instead. This article might not be as valid as the other sources I have found. I believe this because there is not a lot of information I can find out about the author and his credentials. Though this article is from the Bellingham High School library database, there is not any clear evidence provided or cited for the information given. It is a well-written article but I don’t think it would be wise for me to base the important points of my project off it. 5. Worsnop, R. L. (1962). Approach to thinking machines.
