Pregnant women will get abortions because they do not like the sex of the baby or because they just don’t want a baby. At the same time, the same females will get pregnant time after time and will abort the baby because they don’t want it. There are plenty of loving families who cannot get pregnant and will adopt their babies, in most cases will even pay for all the prenatal care (http://www.adopthelp.com). Some of the pro-life supporters believe that in certain situations abortions are necessary to save a life. The law to illegalize abortion will have an exception to certain cases.
The Abortion Controversy Abortion has long been an issue of great controversy in the United States. “Each year, almost half of all pregnancies among American women are unintended. About half of these unplanned pregnancies, 1.3 million each year, are ended by abortion” (prochoice.org). A common misconception is that abortions are often times done by young, uneducated women, who have insufficient lives. This opinion is not valid.
The ages of the women are from 16 to 40 years old. A lot of these women don't tell anyone that their getting an abortion because they don't want to feel ashamed for something like this. They think that their families won't supoort them in a situtation like this. So must women and young girls get an abortion on their own. There are many ways to getting an abortion done.
We all know that one of the few things that we all seem to agree on is that we have to get rid of the abortion law and make sure that any woman that wants an abortion get one no matter the trauma or distress. Undoubtedly we all agree on it, but fail to realize what the law really means, or we may understand it but fail to get advanced with the law and research it. Even though abortion is looked at as “ a right, a form of justice, a woman’s right to choose abortion,”(Pro & Cons of Abortion) we still fail to realize the after affects of abortion. “In our disgust with the extreme oppression women experience under the present abortion laws, many of us are understandably tempted to accept insulting token changes that we would angrily shout down if they were offered to us in any other field of struggle for woman’s liberation.”(www.google.com / pro/cons of abortion) When we see our demands having any effect at all we are then tempted to convince ourselves that everything that sound good right then may not turn out good for women in the long run. And a lot of us are so fed up with the system that we do not even bother to find out what it is doing so we can fight it and demand what we want.
One should never take the life of another, its murder. However, can one put their self in the shoes of someone who has actually had to face abortion? Someone who has had to deal with the pain and despair that comes with the choice. Instead of judging the choice she made, why not think “why?” Should the reader look down upon a woman for her choice to have an abortion with out looking at her reasoning behind why it is she chose that path? It is something one should think about before passing judgment, which people are so quick to do.
Whether pro-choice or pro-life in the end it is up to a woman to decide if she wants to have her baby. Laws banning abortions were first passed in the 1880’s. Reasons to ban abortions were often illogical. For example, settlers didn’t want immigrant children dominating the young population so therefore Anglo-Saxon women had to give birth. Also, not only abortions but a majority
Abortion An abortion is ending a pregnancy before the unborn child is able to live outside of his/her mother. If a woman was to have an abortion before reaching twenty-four weeks is considered a miscarriage; if the woman is beyond the twenty-four weeks then she is having an abortion to deliberately end her pregnancy. Women tend to get abortions due to lack of protection, not ready to be responsible for another human being or unfortunately the woman was raped and doesn’t want to have the rapiers child. Some who believe in abortion use it as a way of birth control and the others who don’t believe in abortion find it as murdering an unborn child. Abortion is a very emotional and personal circumstance to handle, but with anyone it has to be taken
I believe that when you are raped and you feel that you cannot carry that child to term due to the resentment of that child you should have an abortion. Also, if there the mother and the child’s life is at risk and that the unborn child has no chance of surviving and living a normal life than I believe abortion at that point is the only option. Other than those extreme cases I do not believe that abortion should be performed. I believe that if someone is responsible enough to have sex than they should be responsible enough to accept the consequences of what can
I believe that abortion is the wrong choice except in cases of incest, rape, and to save the life of the mother.” (Romney, 2005) Like Republican candidate for President Mitt Romney, Pro-lifers have many beliefs, these include: all life is sacred; if an abortion is immoral - then it ought to be illegal, the unborn fetus is human and deserves rights, life begins at conception, abortions are not safe, they do not believe that the government should fund abortions, and they believe that the scripture backs up their views. Pro-lifers also believe that the Roe v. Wade decision, legalizing abortion on demand in America, was one of the most important and devastating Supreme Court
In 2008, 1.21 million pregnancies were aborted (Guttmacher). I believe that every woman should have a right to decide whether or not she would like to get an abortion. I believe if a woman feels that she is not able to raise a child the way he/she deserves to be raised, if she cannot financially support the child, if having the child will effect her health or the child's health, these to me are all justified reasons for not wanting to bring a child into this harsh world. I do believe that there should be a certain time limit in which an abortion can take place, because as it gets closer to birth you are dealing with a fully developed human being, but in the earlier stages of pregnancy it should be a womans choice. Abortion is a personal decision not a legal
