“All excess is ill, but drunkenness is of the worst sort. It spoils health, dismounts the mind, and unmans men”, (William Penn a preacher, minister, and missionary in the late seventeenth century). In The Absolutely True diary of a Part-Time Indian, Sherman Alexies shows us how alcohol abuse affects Junior's life, how painful it is to deal with the effect, and how it leads to violence and death of the ones he loves. Alcoholism is a disease that affects millions of people and it isn't different for Indians as we see in every other page of this novel. To understand why alcoholism is a disease, it's important to look up it's effects.

Morale Of The U.S “Before the olympic games the morale was powerless and couldn't beat the soviets in any arena. Only thing they could do is boycott the olympics basically just sat down on the sidelines and watched the soviets run over everything which was a catastrophe.
Although the government banned the sale of the fish in 1999, it was lifted two years later when tests showed the fish were clean. But how are the fish clean if the people are still dumping nuclear waste into the lake? Yes there are people who understand what is going on and do not eat the fish, but sadly there are people under the influence of the government’s lies. When I was researching this horrific problem, I hardly could find any statistics from Russia on the nuclear threat in Chelyabinsk. This is very likely because these statistics are hidden from the public and is only available to those who have the resources to access
Friend 1- Man, that game stunk a lot. I can’t beleive they lost by that much. I can’t beleive I wasted all of that money on my ticket. Friend 2- I know. For the first time this year, the Lakers got blown out of the water.
With the city destroyed, the Germans had a slight advantage, but the Russians were still in their own city ,and they still had one major advantage besides that. The Russian cold weather is brutal. The reason General Paulus urged Hitler to not let the Russians retreat to the interior of Russia was because of the winter cold. This is the main factor of the victory for the Red Army. The cold killed off most of Paulus's army which has always been a Russian strategy.
The poem “Witches’ Winter” and the book “The Crucible” illustrate the life in the Old England. In stanza five, the poem showed how the cold and wintry life which the main character Abigail William was suffering. She was tired and abhorred the world she was born into, she had to constrain herself from happiness and joy. Once she tasted the joy of the forbiddance, it only increased her hatred to the cold world: “I taste dried blood on my lips. Better not to have tasted anything, not to have lived through the first winter when Reverend and my father broke chunks of ice into my Christening bowl.” This strongly indicated Abigail’s loathing, and the reason of her revolt against the old restrained law as showed in the book.
Brayden Stamp Ms. Evans ENG 4U1 Final Copy Why Fighting in Hockey Should Stay There is no sporting event which brings a crowd to its feet, and creates an atmospheric explosion quite like that of an ice hockey fight. Many view ice hockey as teeming with brutality and unnecessary violence, and believe the stereotype that hockey players are nothing but goons who enjoy seeing their own blood. However, fighting within hockey is a form of sanctioned violence, and has been deemed acceptable since the inception of the NHL in 1917. A very recent political uproar has taken place within the hockey world, as more and more people in the hockey world are pushing to have fighting completely removed from the game. I have played hockey for 10 years; I
When I first went to fight, mom I didn’t know what to expect at all. They made it seem like if I defeated the enemy I would be a hero, but no one ever proved how dangerous it really is. I can’t even explain the feeling; you would have to be in my shoes to understand. Most of us definitely learned the horror of trench warfare as we lost the war by being the victims of the first poison gas attack. More than 6000 Canadians lost their lives, I’m just thankful that I am here today to write you this
I told lies, and I hurt my friends. I began to lose track of the positive goal, and I turned my ambition into something negative. I soon didn't have any friends and I also did not get elected for president. This was because I did things that were negative and destructive, and I lost track of my goal In the play Macbeth, Macbeth's ambition was to become king. But the only that he saw fit to become king was to kill Duncan.
One problem that people have really with these kinds of wars is that they only focus on the bad things and what goes wrong in them. These ignorant people let the ever so negative media make their decisions on why wars like these are wrong. The media only ever has seemed to show the bad sides of everything and unfortunately the majority of the people in this country watch about five minutes of the news, only watch and see the bad sides of these wars, and continue on about the business only knowing and thinking “oh the _____ war is so dumb we aren’t accomplishing anything whatsoever!” Take another war for example the War in Iraq. We entered it to really try and establish ‘peace in the middle east’. Again sadly people flip on the television; see the reports reporters found of Iraqis begging that we get out that we have only made things worse, they see that our government spends too much money on the war, and that x amount of soldiers died that day.
