Decision making with your employees will let them gain respect for the leader and become more determined. This style will bring strength between you and your employees. Laissez-Faire-This style is used when the leader is lazy or distracted, it’s more of a you do what you want style. This style can be used when the team is highly capable and motivated, it’s when the team doesn’t need close monitoring or supervision. This style can cause failure when the leader expects the group to make the decision between themselves when they are un sure about what they need to achieve and how they need to accomplish the task.
This excellent service can be done by those that care about our world and the people that inhabit it. Service can be serving others in some helpful way. The main idea of service is that the individual isn’t the most important and other people could use help and good advice. Being a good leader means that the leader knows how to serve the people he is working for. Leadership is another trait that can’t be easily developed, but only with thorough diligence and dedication.
Sometimes this style is also described as autocratic. It is a common leadership style and is used when a leader needs to keep as much power as possible and keep control over the decision making. Subordinates are expected to obey orders without arguing back or in need of an explanation to do what they have been ordered to do. In the public services this leadership maybe used when you have all the information to solve the problem or you are working to a deadline. This is not an effective way to get the best result from a team, but it has some advantages in situations where there is pressure to get the task done, like in the armed forces.
Hernandez said that the most important qualities in a leader are humbleness, accept criticism, identify and solve the team problems, be innovative, adaptable, passionate, but non-judgmental. A leader should also be able to give to the team and not only demand from the team. Accountability is another important quality; the achievements as well as the failures pertain to the leader and the team members. A good leader can communicate in a clear, consistent, and concise manner as well as provide clear directions and guidance on what to do and how to do it. A sense of humor appears irrelevant but sometimes a little joke with the team can go a long way.
Instead, a good leader is to ensure that his or her team learns from the mistakes that they have made to avoid future failures. No leader has full control over their team and their actions, but they do have full control over how they act, and have the
Good leadership Being a manager means you must have self-discipline and leadership skills. If you can't lead then you shouldn't be in charge. Good leadership means being communicative, diplomatic but at the same time courageous to say what you think. Being a leader means you won't be inconsistent just to be Mr. or Mrs. Popular. I will be exposed to new things as well as new people. Finally I would like to develop the skills and be a leader as referred to by Eugene B. Habecker, “The true leader serves people. Serves their best interests, and in so doing will not always be popular, may not always impress. But because true leaders are motivated by loving concern rather than a desire for personal glory they are willing to pay the
With Transformation Leadership, one of the specific characteristics is being about the group rather than the one individual. Coach K talks about building trusting relationships so that the group can go on and be sustained and successes if something was to happen to a key member or the leadership. Successful teamwork can be built and maintained if the leadership builds trust, encourages and promotes collective responsibility, caring and pride within the group. All of these components combined (trust, responsibility, caring, pride) can also all work together for another Transformation Leadership characteristic, leadership being elevating. When the leadership works to incorporate and put in place these ideas, one can begin to elevate the group to be better than what they were.
For example, ideas, ethics, morals, expertise, values, personality and knowledge are some good attributes to have. An effective leader is one that can gain respect from others by being confident and having good charisma, or a good personality. I learned that being a leader is more than just being in charge. It is using and developing skills in support of your community. John Quincy Adams once said, "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader."
Transformational leadership inspires followers to transcend their self-interests for the good of the organization and plays an extraordinary effect on their followers. Characteristics of transformational leaders contingent reward promises rewards for good performance.
