Analysis Paper: Influence of the Ecological Model Liberty University COUN620 Dr. Hutton September 01, 2013 Abstract Urie Bronfenbrenner’s ecological theory of development is a theory that is relevant to the lives of all persons. A person’s development is affected by their environment and those relationships are how Bronferbrenner explained his five models of systems. Those models of systems include the microsystem, mesosystem, exosystem, macrosystem, and chronosystem. The five models of systems of the ecological theory are centered upon the relationships amongst the emerging individual and our continuously changing environmental systems. This paper explains how Bronfenbrenner’s ecological theory of development has shaped my development and how these levels influenced my decision to pursue my life’s passion.

In what ways does ‘Pathways Theory’ inform your understanding of how young people become involved in, and desist from, offending behaviour? Where possible make reference to your own practice. In this assignment I aim to discuss my understanding of ‘Pathways Theory’, its validity and furthermore the way in which it informs practice in predicting recidivism. Elder et al 2001 (cited in France and Homel, p.298) refers to ‘Pathways Theory’ as theoretical and empirical work in the field of life course studies and the developmental sciences, including developmental psychology, life span sociology and psychology, life history research and studies of the life cycle. I aim to highlight how ‘Pathways Theory’ influences the Youth Justice System coupled with the Scaled approach furthermore my knowledge and understanding of offending behaviour as a Youth Offending Officer within my practice, that of my team.

I like to do stuff outdoors like camping, fishing, going for walks and taking the kids to the park. I am supported by my loving family when it comes to important decisions in my life. I graduated from Maquoketa Community High School in Maquoketa, Iowa in two thousand and two. I like to keep busy by cleaning other people houses and babysitting their kids while they are working. I am a very easy person to get along with and like to meet new people.
I always have lots of things to say. When I sit aroung the dinning table, I will feel comfortable and happy, and have a glib tongue. I like talking when I eating the meal. I enjoy staying with my family and eating food together. Most of my stories happened during the dinning time.
Everything was new and exciting. However, as time passed by, I felt really lonely and started missing my friends really bad. That is certainly the worst part about moving to another country: your social life gets really affected by that. I was always an easy person to become friends with, so I thought that wouldn’t be a problem for me here, but unfortunately I was wrong. I have lots of friends in Brasilia, and we used to hang out every weekend, and when we had nothing to do, they’d come over to my place so we could watch movies and play some games.
Some may find that they're peaceful and in harmony with nature by just stepping out into their backyard. Although each one of these places are all different, they all have one thing in common -- they are the places of nature that help people to be brought to their better self. Personally, because of where I’ve been raised and the things I love to do in life, the ocean is my own sanctuary of nature's beauty. As a child, nature had always been a large part of my life. Many kids my age spent the majority of their childhood watching movies like the Lion King, which as a 17-year-old, I have still yet to see the beloved childhood movie.Instead, I spent my time out on the water, surfing, wake boarding, swimming, and baking up the sun.
When I first came to college, there were several clubs and fraternities to choose from but I knew the one I wanted to join most was one involved in service. Through Alpha Phi Omega, I have been able to participate in many community outreach projects. I love the bonds and interactions I gain from these experiences, and one that stood out was a program called Saturday Partners in Education, in which a child chooses you as a role model and buddy for the day. Shy, nine-year-old Heather chose me. By the end of our time together, she was showering me with hugs and insisting I keep all of her arts and crafts projects.
Just like our busy world today, we sometimes need a break to step out to help us relax. Therefore, “marginal” places and activities also give us a chance for us to hang out and have fun with our friends and family. In my opinion, I agree with Frazier’s ideas that “marginal” activities and places are valuable. Frazier’s and his friends did a lot of activities by just doing things out of nowhere but at the same time had a lot of fun doing it. They could think of hundreds of things to do together with no worries and always lost track of the time.
