Tonight for example I ate two beef and cheddar sandwiches, and a medium curly fry from Arby’s. Then I chased that down with a 20 ounce Mountain Dew. I also tend to eat more junk food than I do regular meals. This consists of chips, and sweets which I know are foods that are not good for me. These are what I call my comfort foods.
I also drink several Pepsis a day. A day of my diet would be breakfast consists of a sausage, egg and cheese croissant, hash browns, and a Dr. Pepper. Lunch is usually leftovers or pizza and a Pepsi. I normally do not eat dinner. It is a bad habit not to eat dinner but I pay for it in the morning because I’m starving.
For breakfast, I will skip the pancakes, no matter how delicious and fluffy they will appear, and reduce my meal to three egg whites with a piece of whole grain toast, a banana and orange juice. For a snack after that, I will enjoy an apple and a bottle of water. Lunch will include grilled chicken over a salad with a very low fat dressing. I will have some unsweet tea with a lemon. Snacking after that would include a sugar free yogurt with another bottle of water.

Melissa Vazquez Nutrient Summary When doing my dietary analysis I did it over a basis of foods I ate in a complete day. Throughout the day I ate a nature valley bar, yogurt, and vegetarian burger with no bun. What I saw from the dietary analysis that I am lacking very important nutrients that my body needs. The total calories that is recommended for my age group, is 1818 calories. I now currently consume about 689 calories.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. For lunch I usually eat a turkey sandwich with mustard and now make sure that I eat fat free cheese to help with my dairy intake for the day. With my sandwich I eat a vegetable such as broccoli or carrots. I try to eat more fruits throughout the day than I did in the past, such as bananas, pineapple, watermelon, and have recently tried cherries and have become addicted to them. I will eat a whole bag in one sitting.
There is only around twenty-five different meal varieties and so that means while they are deployed they are eat these exact meals two-three times a day. There is no way I could eat MRE’s only, that would get so old. While all these kids and mentors sat around thinking this food was disgusting, the marines were grateful to be served “lunch.” The MRE was not as bad as I expected it to be honestly, but it definitely did not taste like a home cooked meal; it was really all carbs so you were intaking a lot of calories. I selected the beef ravioli and there is a packet in there that if you add water it creates a chemical reaction and causes the water to boil essentially heating up your food. Personally I think we should allow the MRE’s to be personalized, they deserve
The diet proposes eating only fruit for the first 10 days, then adding carbohydrate and butter and on the 19th small amounts of protein are added (Iliades). An example of what a day would look like on the Beverly Hills Diet is as follows; for breakfast you would eat one type of fruit, and as much as you want of it. For lunch, you would eat simple carbohydrates such as an avocado sandwich with sprouts and finally for dinner you would eat rice and vegetables. It is recommended that the fruits and veggies are to be eaten raw. Many experts have concluded that this diet does not work.
Everyone sitting around me has the option to purchase a healthy meal because that’s what our cafeteria mainly serves, but mostly all chose to leave school grounds and purchase something absolutely unhealthy. I believe the problem here is that these people didn’t have the healthy option growing up. I remember when I attended River Grove school as a child and all the school served was fast food. Monday’s- Ravioli with marinara sauce Tuesday’s- Taco Bell Wednesday’s- Mc Donald’s Thursday’s- Dominos Friday’s- Chicken noodle soup Along with all of this we even had a snack bar filled with ice cream, cookies, chips and many other fatty options. There were even parents selling cupcakes every Thursday to help raise money for student council and school dances.
