9/11 2001 affected Americans because it was is the most tragic day in American history. Members of Al Qaudea, hijacked American Air Line’s airplanes, and crashed them into many buildings such as the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and were possibly going toward the White House. September 11 showed America that we’re not invincible and we need to expect the unexpected, to prepare for the future, and to be ready for anything. Also, fire fighters lost their lives do to the terrorist attack by saving others. Finally, it helped Americans come together and realize that every person in America was affected by the attack.
Alyssa Tullis Professor Carole Carroll English 1301 1 October 2012 9/11: God is always there. September 11, 2001, the day America’s worst fear came to life. On this tragic day the World Trade Center and the Pentagon fell to ashes at the hands of terrorists. Witnessing the acts of terror in my own country really changed my perspective on life and I now have a different point of view on how I see the world and the people in it. On the fateful day of September 11, 2001, nineteen terrorists from the Islamist militant group al-Qaeda coordinated four suicide attacks on the United States in the New York and Washington D.C areas.
The date of September 11th, 2001 will without doubt forever be remembered as one of the most tragic days in American history. That day, two passenger airplanes were hijacked by terrorists and were flown into the Twin Towers in New York City. The impact of these airplanes caused the buildings to collapse and in result tragically claimed thousands of lives. Nearing the end of such a catastrophic day, President George W. Bush addressed the nation and delivered a powerful speech. Although his audience were not only the American citizens but also other worldwide leaders and citizens, he was mainly addressing the citizens of America as they were the ones who were mostly affected.
An important moment in history was the Sept. 11th suicide attacks on the U.S. that was coordinated by Al-Qaeda, sending our country into another war. The 9/11 attacks were so significant to the world because it was the biggest planned hijacking and took the most innocent lives during the 21st century. The horrific events now constitute as part of United States history and have become an influence in decisions still being made to this day. On September 11, 2001 two planes crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. A third plane then crashed into the Pentagon in Washington D.C. and a fourth plane crashed in Pennsylvania after the passengers attempted to regain control of the plane from the hijackers.
Fear that they would end up either an outcast, in the same position as Mary Warren or worse being accused of witchery. Though The Crucible was written in reference to McCarthyism, it is still relevant to modern situations. On September 11, 2001, four planes were over taken by Islamic extremists and three were successfully used as implements of destruction. This destruction caused the taking of thousands of innocent lives. While this was a horrible day, it can’t be an oversight that paranoia became a prevailing part of post-9/11 America.
United States: Ground Zero Terrorism is a criminal act that influences an audience beyond the immediate victim. The terrorists plan their attack to obtain great publicity and choosing targets that symbolize what they oppose. We will always remember September 11, 2001. Most of us can remember our locations on this horrific Tuesday morning as we witnessed the second plane hit the South Tower. We felt vulnerable and grieved as we tried to piece the puzzle of this horrendous catastrophe we wondered who was to blame for this attack.
The dreaded day we all know as “9/11” was heart-rending and painful for many Americans all because of an inhumane and merciless act by a gang of jealous and loathing group of terrorists known as “Al-Queda”. On this day, 19 Al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked 4 planes and intentionally flew two of them into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. This act killed everyone on board, in the buildings and took down both towers. September 9, 2010, the proposed construction of building a “ground zero mosque” at park 51 has stirred controversy throughout the United States. Many Americans oppose the construction of the mosque next to ground zero because they see this as the terrorists gaining victory over the U.S. and building a mosque
In the images I chose for my Square of Hope, they all symbolize what comes to mind when I talk about the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The first image is the twin towers, after being hit by the aircraft that was hijacked. I recall September 11th, 2001 as being a sad day. I could feel the mixed emotions of the kids in my class and also the teachers as we heard the news on the TV and the intercoms. Although I was too young to understand why the towers were bombed, I was still able to comprehend that this had been a horrible attack against the U.S.
The knowledge that we provided them allowed them to effectively turn four hijacked planes into deadly guided missiles. The tragic and devastating events of 9-11 are something that, from beginning to end, will forever live in the minds of many Americans as well as something that future generations will read about in history books. The unprecedented shock and suffering of a nation that was totally unprepared has created a unity, not only within our
September 11th 2001 Through My Eyes On September 11th, 2001 New York City witnessed one of the worst terrorist attacks in history, if not the worst. Ten Al Qaeda members hijacked two airplanes in mid-air and each was flown into one of the World Trade Center buildings eventually causing the 110-story buildings to crumble down killing 2606 people. Ten years later on September 11th, 2011 the 9/11 memorial was opened to the public. I had the opportunity to visit this memorial with my class and the experience was mind-boggling. After all that happened on 9/11 and all the crazy people out in the world I was really surprised about the fact that there was a lot of security to get in to the memorial but not nearly as much as I would have
