I have found that a person's culture has an impact on which physical activities individuals participate in to stay healthy. The first person I interviewed was Paul ,16 year old male and very active. He is African-American and plays soccer. They chose soccer because he has always enjoyed playing while growing up , and they liked the social aspect of it as well. This first-person enjoyed playing a sport that interacted with other people, one you could communication with the people around him , while becoming healthy together.
It may be a cliché, but soccer was my life growing up! In Bob Greene’s essay “Cut”, he explains how being cut from a basketball team in 7th grade made him feel, and how it shaped him into the person he is today. He describes the feeling of inadequacy by not being good enough. Bob Greene portrays how that event made him stronger, “never to allow someone to tell me that I’m not good enough again” (Miller, “Cut” 86). As a young child, I lived my life to play soccer.
I would know since I act the same way currently. My second subject was a 20-year-old Caucasian female from Georgia. Right now, she is touring the country with the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps competing against other bands in America. I was lucky enough to get a response since she is busy with this all summer. Each day they push themselves all day to work on their performances, and that includes rigorous training out in the got summer sun.
Soccer fed me knowledge, gave me an aesthetic perspective at everything else around me, and best of all, the ability to love doing something over moderately without getting tired of it. As I've said, I was lucky enough to find my true talent at the age of four but it was never easy growing up. I had a cornucopia of hobbies/talents surrounding me but none could grab my attention like soccer did. I'd be lying if I said soccer is the only thing I could ever love. Sure, drawing seemed to have been taking me places and yes, I was okay at plenty of the other sports but soccer simply became a passion, not just something one would do in order to get rid of their boredom.

Who is your favorite sports athlete right now? Is it Derrick Rose, Eli Manning, Landon Donovan or Derek Jeter? Would you still be able to find their jersey in 15 or 20 years? Probably, because NFL, NBA and MLB jerseys don’t change much. Landon’s might be hard because in soccer, they have different sponsors every couple of years printed on their jerseys.
I now have been invited by two colleges and counting to play on their soccer team, which is amazing, and could take the future debt out of my hands. Around the fall of 2007 I met my best friend. Little did I know she would be the most annoying, aggravating, and goofy person I would ever meet, but would stand by me through everything. She and I will be friends for a lifetime. Around
I don't even want to walk them. I plan on asking one of the principals if I can just use the elevator to get up and down for now on. Regardless, I think I understand better now. I'm a Soccer Sidekick, and I've been proudly supporting the soccer teams the entire season, but now at every game I think I'll cheer a little bit louder, because they were there to cheer me on when I needed it, and most of all, I can't wait to see those super freaks go to
After about a year, Kanan is back and playing on the Varsity Soccer Team. Not only is he working hard every practice and every game, but he now realizes how lucky he is to have the ability to play once again. “I see john working as hard as he can on the field but I also notice that while he is giving everything he has, he is in a lot of pain,” said Andrew Cornwall ’14. Even Today Kanan is having minor difficulties with his knee, but luckily he was gifted with a successful recovery. “I never realized how fortunate I was to be able to play soccer without having a constant pain in my knee,” said Kanan.
