However, through historical and scientific research, many of the ideas conveyed by the tomb were proven to be false. This has led to many misconceptions about the life and death of Tutankhamun. The tomb provides a story on Tut, a story that may not be entirely true. History has uncovered the truth, and determined that the tale being told by King Tut’s tomb is merely how he wanted to be perceived. It is the legacy that lives on after his death.
With reference to Sources A, B, C and D and other archaeological evidence, explain what Tutankhamun’s tomb and its contents reveal about the life and religious beliefs of a New Kingdom Pharaoh. British archaeologist, Howard Carter, discovered the tomb of King Tutankhamun in 1922. Many secrets were revealed about the life of Tutankhamun and his role as a New Kingdom pharaoh through the contents found in his tomb. The immense amount of treasures and wall paintings in his tomb provide sufficient evidence as to the religious beliefs of the young King and the life he lived. The wall paintings in Tutankhamun’s tomb explain the importance of the afterlife, particularly in relation to the pharaoh himself, and the Egyptian people.
Originally thought to be buried in the Grey Friars Church, in the 1530’s, the Church was destroyed and the remains were considered lost. The grounds were so forgotten that at one point it served as an English car park. In 2012, a group of archeologists from Leicester University found the remains of a body in the car park where the Grey Friars Church once stood. In the simple tomb was a decrepit skeleton which after careful analysis could be traced to King Richard the Third. According to the Archeologist who uncovered the body their educated guess became much more than estimation after noticing two major abnormalities in the skeleton.
If such a ruler have wisdom, and be able to keep his land in order, he shall observe the words which I have written in this inscription; the rule, statute, and law of the land which I have given; the decisions which I have made will this inscription show him; let him rule his subjects accordingly, speak justice to them, give right decisions, root out the miscreants and criminals from this land, and grant prosperity to his subjects.Hammurabi, the king of righteousness, on whom Shamash has conferred right (or law) am I. My words are well considered; my deeds are not equaled-- to bring low those that were high, to humble the proud, to expel insolence. If a succeeding ruler considers my words, which I have written in this my inscription, if he do not annul my law, nor corrupt my words, nor change my monument, then may Shamash lengthen that king's reign, as he has that of me, the king of righteousness, that he may reign in righteousness over his subjects. If this ruler do not esteem my words, which I have written in my inscription, if he despise my curses and fear not the curse of God, if he destroy the law which I have given, corrupt my words, change my monument, efface my name, write his name there, or on account of the curses commission another so to do, that man, whether king or ruler, patesi, or commoner, no matter what he be, may the great God (Anu), the Father of the gods, who has ordered my rule, withdraw from him the glory of royalty, break his

This idea of reincarnation lead to our understanding that that Egyptians linked the sun patterns with death. Religion started taking shape by the early dynastic periods. That event created a “volcanic winter” that devastated the ecology of southern and eastern Europe, in their view.12 Geologist Biagio Giaccio of the Institute of Environmental Geology and Geoengineering In Rome challenges Golovanova’s account. Excavations in four southern Mediterranean caves have unearthed modern human tools that, contrary to the new proposal, are slightly older than ash layers from the 40,000-year-old volcanic eruption in Italy, Modern humans survived because they lived in Africa and on the tip of southwestern Asia at that time, safely outside the range of volcanic ash clouds Some think one of the most likely causes for the Neanderthals extinction is them being killed off by diseases/viruses that MDH unintentionally brought with them as they moved into Europe during the last ice age. 13 Certainly cases of such things happening in other groups of people has been documented, like the Spanish bringing Smallpox over to the Aztec empire. It’s possible that
Tutankhamun ‘The best thing that Tutankhamun ever did was to die because his burial treasures provides evidence of the art, culture and burial practices of the Eighteenth Dynasty’ –Howard Carter Howard Carter’s statement is extremely harsh but is very true, as Tutankhamun did not participate in any historically significant events during his nine years as pharaoh of Egypt, whereas his tomb taught our society so much about 18th Dynasty Ancient Egyptian culture. Tutankhamun suffered from numerous birth defects, and died at only 19 years of age therefore it would have been very difficult for him to participate in major battles or make serious political amendments to 13th century B.C. Egypt. However, due to his death, Tutankhamun was able to be buried with a vast array of Ancient goods which have become primary sources for Archaeologists trying to discover the sociology of Ancient Egypt. The tomb of Tutankhamun was such a significant archaeological discovery because it was the only burial chamber in the whole Valley of the Kings where the mummified body and numerous objects were still in situ.
