Trip to America New York City is the most colorful and diverse city in the whole US. There are a lot of wild, exotic and wonderful people of many different cultures. In addition to that, you find many sights and touristic highlights throughout the whole city. The gigantic city on the east coast of the US offers numerous attractions to visitors from all over the world. Since the so-called ‘Big Apple’ is home of the New York Yankees, which is an American baseball team, you can visit the Yankees Stadium in the north part of the city. For the art-lovers there is among others the Guggenheim Museum right next to Central Park, which is like a green isle in between all the humongous skyscrapers. A highlight of every visit is the view of the city from the 103rd floor of Rockefeller Center. With ‘Top Of The Rock’ you have the possibility to take the elevator up and see the city from the bird perspective. Moreover you may not miss to see the famous Statue Of Liberty and the visit of Times Square, which can be considered New York’s busiest place. You can find naked cowboys with guitars, black men singing, Indian comedians or people dressed as comic heroes. I’ve visited New York City several times during my au pair year in the US but New Year’s Eve in New York City was surely the best and most memorable visit. On December 26th I took a bus from Washington, DC down to New York to meet two of my friends from Germany who flew there for this special occasion. Before New Year’s Eve we spent our days with sight-seeing and shopping. We saw the big colorful Christmas tree near Rockefeller Center and experienced the wonderful atmosphere and spirit of the city during Christmas time. On December 31st two other friends from Germany came to New York to celebrate New Year’s Eve with us. We picked them up from their hotel at four o’clock to walk through the city and to get a bite to eat
