It is generally responsible for the processing of some customer’s transactions. This is in addition to the settlement of interbank trades which is the core function of the unit. Transaction processing are categorized into different desks and with related transactions grouped together under the same desk. There are basically 6 desks in treasury operations as at the time of putting this document together. They include: * Investment Desk * Foreign Exchange Desk * Fixed Income Desk * Local Currency Transfer Desk * Credit Operations Desk * Reports and Reconciliations Desk. Every desk has it’s distinct functions and responsibilities within the unit. They are all geared towards achieving the strategic objective of the unit. This document seeks to spell out the processes involved in carrying out every bit of responsibilities on investment desk. It is pertinent and germane to have a document that will give a step by step explanation on the processes and procedures involve on the desk.
