Why? I am interested in wolves and would like to know what the world is like from a wolf’s perspective. I would also like to know some things about the kind of people who do this type of work. How they capture and treat the wolves. How do they take care of them before they return to the wild?
The grey wolf is a social animal, traveling in packs consisting of a mated pair and the pair’s adult offspring (Mech., 2003). The grey wolf is typically an apex predator throughout its range. It feeds primarily on large ungulates, but it also eats smaller animals, carrion, and livestock. Arguably, the reasons for the decline in wolf population are that they are highly territorial animals, and established territories than they require to survive to ensure steady supply of prey. Wolves defend their territory from other packs through a combination of scent marking, direct attacks and howling (Asa., 1990).
Suddenly, KJ and Virgil become targets of violence. There is a lot going on here—romance, politics, father-daughter issues but it all takes a backseat to the wolves, and teens with a budding interest in conservation and ecology will be the best audience for this
Damian Lewandowski Anthropology 105 Observation Gray wolves are usually very aggressive and wild animals; however some wolves are capable of being domesticated and show obedient, compliant, and submissive traits that are usually found in dogs – others do not. Deduction Being native to wilderness, grey wolves remote areas of North America, Eurasia, and North Africa. (Wikipedia) It could be deducted that a very possible explanation for the pattern of domesticating wolves is gene flow. High diversity and mixing genes from different populations could result in a development of a new gene or trait that allows humans to easily control the uninhabited wolves. Hypothesis If we mix diverse groups of wild grey wolves from different geographical
Wolves are smart. They are persistent and fierce predators. They hunt in groups, as a pack. Pack hunting by wolves stimulates fear in humans almost more than any other large predator, excepting the big cats (tigers, lions, cougars). Wherever wolves exist, they become the subject of mythology, and wherever there are wolves, there are people who fear them, hate them, and respect them.
Ecologist have yet to anticipate the long-term effect of Coyotes to White Tail Deer. Even though the Coyotes have affect native species, they have also wreaked havoc on the livestock and local animals part of Maryland. Pets make easy prey for Coyotes in the suburbs. They’re known to prey on domesticated dogs and cats, since their introduction to the Eastern Shore the feral cat’s population has dwindled rapidly. However, they may take it upon them to attack our everyday domesticated animals like our dogs, rabbits, cats, or even our livestock, which can cause tragedy because then they are trapped and shot. Now the gray wolf near

They are suggesting that a single event of tragic attack is not a good reason to kill lots of coyotes with no serious boundaries. Coyotes are predators replacing
The dog bite epidemic is of great concern to humanitarians, the government, the insurance industry, and canine professionals, among others. In addition, the nearly constant reports of pit bulls killing and maiming children is of special interest to the public in general. The issue is whether to ban certain dogs, restrict them, take a different approach, or do nothing at all. There are four main points of view regarding what should be done, discussed in this section. Argument in favor of doing nothing at all because there supposedly is no problem Some say, "do nothing at all."
Many people assume self-defense is protecting one’s self from loose criminals and aggressors, but self-defense is not merely about people. Ranchers protect their livestock every day from coyotes and other wildlife with their rifles. Mountain men protect their homes from bears with their firearms. Of course, there will always been a need for an individual too protect themselves from another, but that is not the only thing firearms are good for. If the new gun laws don’t allow for individuals to carry a firearm for protection then criminals will kill innocent families, coyotes will kill innocent cattle and the big bad wolf is going to go eat Mary’s little
