Soil Vapour Extraction By Amy Marsh GEOL 2420 Monitoring and Remediation Proposal January 25, 2015 NAIT Edmonton, Alberta Purpose and Scope The purpose of this report is to give a technical description of what Soil Vapour Extraction is and to give a layout in the theory behind the technology and how it works, what equipment is used, and the process that involved in remediating in situ sites. This research will assist in determining the appropriate application of this technology, learning what settings the extraction method will not work in, and the amount it costs to run a system such as this. The scope of this topic seeks to give insight on Soil Vapour Extraction and the benefits and downfalls this method of remediation will have in the industry. By taking a look at a couple of case studies given out to the public by the Federal Remediation Technologies Roundtable (FRTR), one can read and determine the answer to what this report will focus on. Methods and Sources Information will be located primarily through the use of the FRTR website, scholarly sites, and research guides on the NAIT website, such as Academic Research Complete, Environment Complete, OnePetro, and Applied Science & Technology, which use EBSCO Host as the main browser. Sources that are selected are composed of journal articles, government reports, and other official reports.
