If ongoing pollution cannot be reduced, then the climate is just going to keep getting worse day by day. As a result, not only will a single nation be suffering, but also the entire planet will change due to global warming. Eaarth Chapters 1 & 2 We’ve changed the planet. Global warming is no longer philosophical or future threat but instead a current and very real threat. The changes made to our planet are more evident in the toughest parts of the planet, and climate change is wrecking the lives of thousands daily. People think all over the world that global warming is worse than it is, or not really important. According to www.merriam-webster.com, “Global Warming is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth’s atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons and other pollutants. ” Through many years of research, it has been proven that this has been around for many years and it has been effecting us in a lot of different ways. When looking for books, online sources and movies, I never thought that the topic would be so political. Learning about the OWI for the first time really shocked me. It makes me wonder how many movies were written before the OWI could come along and change the script in order to boost morale. I attempted to look for controversial movies during this time that were "anti-war" but this task proved to be most difficult of all. Researching the information for my topic changed my outlook on early film.

Are You Fracking Kidding In today’s society the environment is a huge issue. Politicians use environmental issues in their campaigns to get votes, movies have been made on the effects of global warming, and going green is everywhere. Fracking, or hydraulic fracturing is a mixed combination of good versus evil. Tapping into our own natural gas supply, so we don’t have to be so dependent on foreign natural gas supplies, we are causing undeniable damage to our environment. According to Tracy Bank, “it pollutes bodies of water and turns residential areas into industrial zones, among other things” (Marsa, 2011).
Big businesses are releasing harmful chemicals into the atmosphere and oceans. As a result the ozone layers are thinning and creating unprecedented hotter climates in many regions that negatively affect the ecosystems that are not used to the increase in heat.
