There is scarcely any part of my conduct which may not hereafter be drawn into precedent.” George Washington was not afraid to take a leap of faith, to step in the dark, confident all the while. “Let your heart feel for the afflictions and distress of everyone, and let your hand give in proportion to your purse.” George Washington was empathetic and charitable, though he never sought anything in return. “When we assumed the Soldier, we did not lay aside the Citizen.” President Washington knew that to succeed, he had to take in account everybody’s point of view, and remain as unbiased as he could. He had his faults, however few, but he conquered those just like he conquered his enemies and his doubters. He faced them head on, using honesty and good values in one hand and cunning and power in the other.
One must be free from limitations on his/herself and have a free spirit. In Chapter I of Self Reliance, Emerson talks about the idea that when he is standing on flat carefree ground he is uplifted into blithe, carefree air, and no longer has any limits on himself. In this carefree state Emerson “feel[s] that nothing can befall [himself] in life, -- no disgrace, no calamity, (leaving me my eyes,) which nature cannot repair. Standing on the bare ground, -- my head bathed by the blithe air, and uplifted into infinite space, -- all mean egotism vanishes. Sometimes, I think by myself that I’m doing a wrong thing. Somehow, I’m breaking her trust, but at least I’m not doing anything that can bring shame for my family or offend my parents.
Example, walking away is braver than mouthing off. (This is something I can’t seem to do.). Violence involving calmness means that you have to avoid violence by trying not to be influenced by confliction towards you and others. Three common factors of sanity are peacefulness, joyfulness, and spiritually bound. “No matter what side you are on, you always find someone on your side who wishes that they were on the other.”- Jascha
I mean you’re the leader, Mr Ross; I can’t let anything happen to you.” I could just tell he was going to say no. “I know you need a body guard.” I insisted. “I could do it, Mr Ross. For the first time in my life I felt… well, nobody made jokes about me. I felt like I was a part of something special.” And to my extreme surprise he nodded his head.
In this I will also be less judgmental, I will understanding that talking about and criticizing people is wrong because you never know their situation. Also in remembering that not every one is as fortunate as I have been blessed to be. In this I will continue to volunteer and mentor
