It is said that virtue ethics measures a person by his or her character and moral standing within a community in determination of his or her good. With utilitarianism, a person is a good and moral person when his actions benefit the needs of the community over personal needs. Another words, you serve everyone else around you before you even think of helping yourself. Being unselfish is being utilitarianism. The same thing can be said about deontology, a person is good and moral when his choice of action within a community is inherently moral and good or they do the right thing.
The other two of the ethical lenses are using your Sensibility (Intuition) which means using your intuition and emotions for our behavior to be ethical are : 1)Results Lens:using your sensibility to decide your decisions which will make you happy and adds more happiness to your life. 2)Reputation Lens:is to rely on your sensibility to agree upon the character traits which are needed for good living . And these four primary ethical lenses also catogorized into 2 types. 1-Ethical Lenses for Individual decision a)Rights and Responsibilities lens b)Results lens 2-Ethical lenses for Community determining a)Relationship lens b)Reputation lens My preferred lens is : Rights and Responsibility lens Relationship lens I use my critical thinking(Rational) skill to determine general rules and equality of community so that everybody gets treated fairly equal. I follow the universal rules and apply equally to everybody in the community.I look through the problem carefully and research different options
Ethics within the Apparel Industry Sweatshops are found worldwide, they are factories in the apparel industry that operate illegally, forcing workers to work long hours in horrible working conditions at a low salary. Often these workers are obligated to work under such condition not by choice, but rather they are obligated. These workers are often immigrants that are threatened with legal action, accused of committing crimes or ordinary people that are abducted and forced to work for free, frequently threatened with death. These workers are restricted from ethical rights. Sweatshops have always been an issue within the Apparel Industry; companies seek out cheap alternatives to having mass production of clothing for cheaper rates.
The moral ethical standards of a society provide the basic guidelines for corporate ethical stewardship existence and allow us to resolve conflicts by social existence and allow us to resolve conflicts by appeal to shared principles of justification. According to “Block’s (1993, p23-25) stewardship and the role "emphasized over the service over self-interest”. It is easy to see how the laws are set one can find it hard and how difficult it is to keep up with the different laws set in Ethical Stewardship rules and relations. When it comes to research methodology and using the Theoretical model: leadership behavior, trustworthiness, and ethical stewardship .This diagram shows how easy it is to see how trustworthy people would have a hard time agreeing to
Moreover, The costs and benefits to an organization when they behave ethically. Lastly, I will choose one component from Svensson & Woods's model from "A Model of Business Ethics" and discuss how it is relevant for Anglo-American. Ethical Business Behavior Ethical business behavior refers to an organization actions and policies that are synergetic with "doing the right thing" (Sethi, 2003). In order for an organization to function ethically they must establish principles and set boundaries for employees and the other companies that they are involved in business with. Society as a whole is responsible to conduct business ethically.
* Respect the rights of service users whilst seeking to ensure that their behaviour does not harm themselves or other people. * Uphold public trust and confidence in social care services; and * Be accountable for the quality of their work and take responsibility for maintaining and improving their knowledge and skills. All organisations have a code of practice; they are viewed as intrinsically linked to organisational performance as they lay the foundations of staff behaviour, performance and conduct. Arguably the stakes are higher when an organisation concentrates solely on people; therefore one could argue that the code of practice of such an organisation would certainly need to be more robust, benevolent and egalitarian than the ordinary codes. This is the state of affairs we find here with the GSCC who within their six codes seem to concentrate on promoting the rights, interest and independence of the service user.
Utilitarian Approach: The utilitarian approach to ethical decision-making holds that moral decisions should produce the greatest good for the greatest number in society as a whole. While appealing conceptually, especially to quantitatively oriented students who understand cost/benefit analysis, the actual calculations can be complex when the costs and benefits to all of society must be considered. For that reason, simplifying assumptions are generally made to limit the calculations to only those directly impacted. (These simplifying assumptions often give rise to criticisms that this model is simplistic, often self-serving, and unable to appropriately consider impacts that are not easily reduced to dollars and cents. )In this Scaffold Plank
In addition, in most cases they will serve what you like anyway because they are trying to win you over on their side anyway. What we must realize and understand is that not everybody likes the same things and the same people. However, we must not be so ethnocentric that we think we are the best and no one else matter. We must understand that the world is bigger than we are and that we can learn from other culture. We must see that culture relativism is a must and the best way to go if we want to grow together.
Standing up for what is right and fighting to achieve your goals. To me those are all great things that makes the greatest leader of the country. Sometimes being a good leader means that you have to sacrifice family and friends and the ability to not be afraid of the unknown. Being honest as a leader makes a lot of difference. It makes citizens want to trust you , it makes them want to trust the promises that you've made as a president or leader, or even a mayor.
The products were often made in sweatshops-factories where underage, underpaid workers performed 16-hour or long days in abhorrent, unsafe conditions. Then Gap went through the engaged stage, it turned to Social Accountability International and developed a Code of Vendor Conduct. This is because Gap became aware that they needed to change public expectations. To make sure all the contractors were abiding by the code; Gap hired more than 90 vendor compliance officers to audit the contractors. And they are not afraid of the negative reaction.
