Alfred Wegner was the theorist behind the discovery of tectonic plates back at the start of the 19th century. He found that across the globe there were small bits of evidence that showed the earth was once just one big continent called Pangaea, one part of evidence he found to explain this vast continent was the mountain ranges going through the middle of the West of Africa and the East of South America both of which go right up to the coastline and end in the sea. He noticed that if you connected the two continents up like a jigsaw then the two mountain ranges joined up nicely to make one big one. It isn’t just these two continents that join up but all the continents we have today connected up. For example Canada and the north of Scotland connect agreeably, and they have similar rock formations which indicate that they were laid down at the same time in the same place.

“…our manifest destiny to overspread the continent allotted by Providence for the free development of our yearly multiplying millions”[2] This essay reveal John O'Sullivan claim United States had a destiny expansion . Not so long United States did annexation Texas Republic into the Union, but John O'Sullivan’s phrase “Manifest Destiny” was not attracted many people. Prohibition acted as a catalyst leading to the road of interdependence. People determined to drink if they pleased, regardless of American laws, fostered many Americans to turn to Mexico to fulfill their thirst. The Great Depression was a setback because people were tighter with spending and businesses went bankrupt- but the road to the sharing of cultures was already paved and was destined to be continued. One thing that helped improve relations between the two countries was President Roosevelt’s "Good Neighbor Policy" in the 1930’s and 1940’s that led to an increase in cooperation and compromise on both
First of all I will explain various viewpoints on climate change. The various viewpoints come from different parts of the world like the United States, China, Russia, and India. The viewpoint from the United States is one of the defining challenges of their time talking about how the science is clear and conclusive and the impacts no longer can be ignored. Here is a quote from President Barack Obama on July 9 at the G8 Summit on the Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate, L'Aquila” Ice sheets are melting. Sea levels are rising.
It was only until 1971 that Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau decided to modify the bicultural assimilation model, previously used by the Royal Commission, to better suit the growing variety of cultures in Canada. This subsequently led to the establishment of multiculturalism as official government policy, and 17 years later to the institutionalisation of the Canadian Multiculturalism Act. The enactment of this policy would forever change the face of Canada’s identity and culture. This paper will also touch upon the implications of multiculturalism on the economy and how it allowed Canada to attract skilled and intelligent people from all over the world, literally making it a “global talent magnet”. Another topic that will be discussed is how our government’s multiculturalism policy has revolutionized the idea of human rights thus ameliorating the quality of life in Canada.
Some scientists say the wave of hurricanes is the product of global warming spurred by greenhouse gases from cars and industries. Others say it's the latest wave in a recurrent and completely natural series of cyclonic assaults on the United States' eastern and southeastern shores. Tropical
Our atmosphere stores gases, known as greenhouse gases, like water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane gas, fluorinated gases, and nitrous oxide. These greenhouse gases trap some of the radiation which warms our planet to allow humans, plants and animals to survive. The dramatic changes to the climate from greenhouse gases is not a natural process which is why the climate changes are such a big issue . Throughout the history of the earth natural climate changes have been known to occur over thousands of years due to the Earth’s orbit and the exposure to the sun. That fact is actually used in arguments for people that believe global warming is a myth.
