Factors that affect that influence the needs of individuals in health and social care * Socio-economic factors * Health factors * Lifestyle factors * Physical factors Socio economic factors: Social class Social class is very influencing people of a low class may want designer clothes and expensive, but can’t buy it because of their income. Having a low income can be stressing so people rely on drugs, alcohol and cigarettes to relieve some of the stress they know it’s bad for them but some people can’t cope with the stress some people suffer from a mental break down and end up in hospital. Low incomes can lead to binge eating i.e. junk foods and a take away from chippys. People of a higher income have a choice of what they can eat they rarely suffer from stress they have time to enjoy their life and unwind. Living conditions Living in a comfy home is important if you live in a damp house with poor lighting and no heat you will not feel good about yourself, you will feel poor, it’s important to live in a house with good air which is not damp and good heating just in case it gets cold. Having access to hot and cold water is very important. Having the basics things in life is essential. Culture Each culture has influences on the way you eat, drink and they way you dress etc. culture is a group of people sharing beliefs each culture links the way people think and act in a way. Health factors Infection There are many different types of infections for example cold, HIV/AIDS, throat infection, pneumonia etc. these are health factors we are all at risk of getting infections like cold sores or touching contaminated things on public transport. Injury Injuries are damages to the body putting your physical health at risk, some injuries can be very fatal and can cause immobility and even death at a workplace or at home. Mental health
