The boys believe that they will be rescued after their airplane crash-landed on a deserted island with no adults. They believe it is a short trip in paradise. Ironically, the boys learn the dark side of human nature: killing, stealing, and fighting. The book Lord of the Flies doesn’t offer any hope because most of the boys turned into violent savages who kill and steal. They had no solution to end it.
The two men travel through the mountains of the far West with Hardesty following Jesses continual bad advice. Hardesty soon finds his clothes drenched, then finds himself in a cave with bats and bears, and,

CHACTER ESSAY I almost every book there is a hero and only one actually stood out to me in the story of the Iliad and the odyssey, Odysseus really stood out to me because he went to troy to fight the Trojans and when he was headed home he didn’t want to make a sacrifice to the god Poseidon, this angered Poseidon and he blew Odysseus’s crew to many mysterious islands and lands. The first island he landed on was the island of the lotus eaters, mesmerized by the plant some of his crew did not return because they had fallen for the flower. The second island was the land of the giants, where Odysseus ran into the son of Poseidon. Odysseus entered cave and fed on the giant’s food and when he returned the giant ate a few of his men. After he escaped
The first time that we meet Odysseus he is crying on the Beach of the goddess Calypsos’ Island because he is homesick. He is stuck here because on his journey home to Ithaka after the Trojan War he and his men sailed to the land of the Cyclops where the island natives weren’t as civilized as they had hoped. Odysseus and his men discovered the cave that the Cyclops live in and decide to stay the night. The Cyclops that lives in the cave is Polyphemus, son of Poseidon. When
He has his own room in the barn because he is prohibited from sharing a room with the white men. Candy, looking in awe at Crooks’ room, says “Must be nice to have a room all to yourself”’ Crooks answers with “And a manure pile under the window, Sure it’s swell” (82). This separation makes Crooks more isolated than any other characters because of his lack of human interaction, which causes him extreme loneliness. “I tell ya a guy gets too lonely and he gets sick” (80). This also causes him extreme loneliness.
During Odysseus’s journey back to his home from the Trojan War he lands on the island of the Cyclopes. Odysseus takes this opportunity to find supplies not knowing the danger of the giants that live on the island. He takes a party of twelve men. On their search they find and enter a large cave, which happens to be the home of a Cyclops named Polyphemus. Polyphemus returns home with his sheep and finds Odysseus and his men; he blocks the caves entrance with a stone, trapping them inside.
Piggy as a Symbol in Lord of the Flies In the story of Adam and Eve from the Bible, God banishes Adam and Eve from the paradisiacal island for tasting the forbidden fruit, which forces them to learn to be civilized beings. In Lord of the Flies, by Sir William Golding, the group of boys acquire the sweet taste of the “forbidden fruit” (no civilization) and spiral down to a hellish anarchy. In the allegorical novel, a group of young boys fly in a plane to flee the country, for they find themselves in the midst of a war. The plane crashes into a beautiful island, and there they must learn to adapt to the new surroundings and keep everything and everyone under control. All seems well, but then suddenly the boys find themselves thrown into
